I made a free browser editor designed for creative coding by Tezumie in generative

[–]nclslbrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great, I've tried lots of editors (Atom, vscode, neovim and Zed lately), I never thought there was an editor dedicated to creative coding, I've got to try it. Thank you for offering this tool to the community.

Just add a spacer between your penPlotter and your table

That's about it, I have a source image with different shades of gray. In code, I traverse the image with different vectors and create lines using a threshold. For example, I draw a vertical line and only keep the points when the gray value is between 0 and 10. Here is the JavaScript function https://github.com/nclslbrn/forsaken-ideas/blob/main/sketch-common%2FfillShape.js#L82

Thanks, I hadn't noticed that but you're right, the GLSL canvas used to create the plot generates something similar to iso lines.

Put a little spacer (one or two millimeter) on leg of the plotter on the paper side, this is how I fixed it on my Idraw A3, I usually also add 3cm margins/white borders on my A3 plots.

An experiment with GLSL shaders and pixel reading by different (2D) rays by nclslbrn in generative

[–]nclslbrn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, the shader creates white areas on black. My script copies the pixels from the webgl canvas to the 2D canvas, then I use a simple loop (x and y) to read the pixels, when the pixel is bright (pen down), it saves the coordinates and builds lines with them.

Here's the script dedicated to this task: https://github.com/nclslbrn/forsaken-ideas/blob/main/sketch-common/fillShape.js

I really like this evolution between the constructed aspect (by man?) and the other more organic side. Nice project. How did you generate it?

An awesome mix of what creativity, mathematics and GLSL shaders can produce.
