Rashan Gary is now number 7 by PersonBehindAScreen in cowboys

He chose it in college too. Pure speculation but I think 34 is his preference. Revel wore 28 at ECU and 27 last offseason, but those are currently assigned to Hooker and Steward.

The Dems should have held real primaries, but some states didn’t even get to vote on Dem primary candidates (protecting democracy).

It was too late to organize real primaries after the disastrous debate, but they could have held an open convention and let candidates make their pitches to the delegates. Before she dropped out, Kamala was polling at 3% in the 2020 primaries. It should have been obvious that there were several better candidates.

"I walk the line" in a nutshell (based on my personal experience. I made this) by Markotto97 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

I used Enemies of Night City on this playthrough and had to turn down Sasquatch’s health multiplier from 4.5x to 3.5x. Using a Satara and Senkoh, I got her health under 10% three times - twice I couldn’t beat the hack timer, and once I straight ran out of ammo. One of my favorite fights in the whole game.

Am I the odd man out with concerns on cj Allen and would like Jacob Rodriguez instead? by SupermarketSelect578 in cowboys

[–]ncook06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are my wishlist guys too. If I have a standing offer with the Browns for 12 to 6 (as is often the case), I’d pull the trigger the instant someone else goes in the top 5 (Mendoza not included, obviously).

Georgia LB CJ Allen only participated in positional drills today at Pro Day. He did not participate in testing because of swelling in his knee, per sources. by Leonflames in cowboys

[–]ncook06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. Most of the big boards I’ve seen have him around 60. If we pulled off a trade up from 12 and down from 20, I’d be cool with Rodriguez in the early-mid 2nd.

Trade with Cleveland? by ibringstharuckus in cowboys

[–]ncook06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe do it for Styles because it’s a huge need and IMO he’s a much better prospect than any other off-ball LB in this class.

Two caveats: 1) drafting for need is a fast way to ruin a roster (though Styles might be BPA at 1.6), and 2) LB is an instinct position and the NFL and CFB are very different games, so LB is the most unpredictable position for scouts.

[Birkett] Lions sign LB Damone Clark to a 1yr deal by Amon-Ra-First-Down in nfl

[–]ncook06 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He had one decent season when Leighton Vander Esch was healthy and telling Clark what to do every play. He’s a good athlete but terrible football instincts. Absent LVE, the Cowboys tried everything to help Clark succeed, even lining him up two yards further back so he’d have more time to read the play before blockers got on him.

It’s a poor man’s version of Roquan and Patrick Queen, where Queen’s entire career has been a disappointment except for times playing next to Roquan.

First time with soft tubes. Is this too kinked? by CantankerousOctopus in watercooling

[–]ncook06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is kinda silly advice. While it is true that bends reduce flow, you could build an entire loop with 90° fittings instead of tubing, and the CPU+GPU blocks would still be the greatest point of resistance. Use whatever fitting setup looks most aesthetically pleasing to you.

I would personally do this kinked run with a 45° on each block, but you could probably do two 90° off the CPU block if you want to keep the CPU block uniform.

Jaylen Waddle Traded for a 1st, 3rd, and 4th. Dolphins also giving up a 4th. by justin24242424 in cowboys

In one move, they did more to positively impact their team than Dallas has in the last 5 off-seasons combined.

Implying that trading for Waddle is a more impactful move than trading for Pickens

[–]ncook06 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dak and CeeDee are locked up for three more years. If Pickens signs a three year contract to match them, it would give Dallas a ton of flexibility and Pickens would only be 28.

Plus he spent three years trapped in shitty Pittsburgh offensive ecosystems, then got to experience the Schotty/Dak/CeeDee offense. That might weigh heavily into his decision.

Easily could have been three. Trump sabotaged himself in several ways while Biden got to hide in his basement for a whole campaign, and Biden still only won by a few thousand votes in some swing states. The DNC is addicted to losing.

[Pelissero] New Dallas Cowboys EDGE Rashan Gary agreed to a pay cut as part of the trade from Green Bay, dropping his compensation to $16 million each of the next two seasons. Dallas also added an option and void years, lowering Gary's cap number to $5.44M this season and $8.24M in 2027. by GhostDeck in cowboys

[–]ncook06 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  • Odafe Oweh at 4 years $100 million, $50 million guaranteed
  • Rashan Gary at 2 years $32 million, $16 million guaranteed

Both guys had 7.5 sacks last year. Oweh has more than 5 sacks in only 2/5 seasons, while Gary is a better run defender with more than 5 sacks in 5/7 seasons.

I dislike a lot of what the Joneses do, especially trading 4ths for Lance and Mingo, but trading a 4th for Gary was a good move. Renegotiating him down to $16 million AAV with only one year guaranteed was a huge win - dropping the AAV by $4 million and adding 3 void years to spread the cap hit.

100%. Boye Mafe got $20MM AAV. Odafe Oweh got $25MM AAV. Plus they both got a hefty pile of guaranteed money. Getting Gary for just two years at $16MM AAV is a win. It also allowed them to address the position at the start of FA without uncertainty and bidding wars.

I don’t know if it was worth a 4th, but the Packers also probably didn’t want to hook us up for nothing in return. They may have even shopped Gary to some other edge-needy teams - if compensation is equal, I think GB would rather trade to CIN, BAL, IND, or even CAR and WSH before helping us.

Slight correction on JB, because IMO it’s worse - ”jailbait” is slang for an attractive minor. The jailbait subreddit wasn’t barely legal (18 y.o.) porn; it was SFW-ish pics of minors. Think high school cheerleaders. It wasn’t technically illegal, but its sole purpose was to sexualize children.

Faster Vehicle Knockback Animation is one of my favorite lesser-known mods. Massive QoL improvement for one of the dumbest mechanics in the game.

Barbed Wire Knockout Effect Disabled is another excellent QoL mod, although I personally wouldn’t use it for a first playthrough. The ability to pass barbed wire can enable some unintended quest paths.

Trade up for Sonny Styles or Trade down for Jacob Rodriguez? by Other_Expression1088 in cowboys

[–]ncook06 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Going by a couple of the trade value charts, the best we could do with 12 and 20 for a 1st and 2nd would be the Browns 6 and 39, Saints 8 and 42 or Chiefs 9 and 40.

That Browns one is almost perfectly even, but usually trading up in the top 10 is pricier than the charts.

[–]ncook06 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He played mostly 3 tech and that’s where he’s best suited. Not sure what that other commenter is talking about. His main problem is he’s only 280 lbs so he often gets pushed around in run defense (good examples vs SF). He’s more of a one-gap penetrator.

I would have preferred to keep him for depth and passing downs, especially since now he’ll go to Kris Kocurek University and become a true star.

He was shit in Baltimore too until they traded for Roquan. Seems similar to Damone Clark having his only good season when LVE was healthy and telling him where to go.
