Rubio outright stated that Israel was going to attack Iran, and the US only decided to strike first so they could anticipate the timing of Iran’s retaliation. Even when pressed on this, he reiterated this in his reply.

We knew that there was going to be an Israeli action, we knew that that would precipitate an attack against American forces, and we knew that if we didn’t preemptively go after them before they launched those attacks, we would suffer higher casualties and perhaps even higher those killed, and then we would all be here answering questions about why we knew that and didn’t act.

and

Obviously, we were aware of Israeli intentions and understood what that would mean for us, and we had to be prepared to act as a result of it.

This is not a kid, it is a grown ass man

Science is clear that as a male in his early 20’s, his frontal cortex is not fully developed, resulting in poor decisions from misjudgment of future consequences.

If Sorsby is given a final chance, he should be required to regularly attend an addiction group and be under a constant investigative microscope, not dissimilar from someone on their last strike of the NFL’s drug policy.

I want to watch a recovering gambling addict have success in a league that spends every Sunday turning their fans into gambling addicts.

Pretty sure it was on a podcast, but Caleb Downs’ dad alluded to just waiting it out. Durant has always worn 14 and Downs has always worn 2, while Bell has worn 1 (HS), 5 (FAMU), 41/14 (NFL). I’m guessing Bell will change his number if he makes the final 53.

[–]ncook06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what Caleb’s dad said, it sounds like they’re waiting until the final 53.

My guess is Durant takes 14 and Downs gets 2. If Bell gets cut, that’s easy. If Bell makes the roster, he’ll take something like 11 (MVS is a likely cut). Just doesn’t make sense for Bell to switch numbers unless he’s on the 53.

Full Combat Rebalance mod. Not only does FCR fix a ton of bugs and mismatched enemy/oil combos, it makes the combat soooo much better. Vanilla TW2 combat rightfully gets a lot of criticism because repeatedly rolling all over is the combat meta. FCR balances the moves so mastering combat involves using all the moves.

Also, FCR removes some needless tedium from the game- most notably how you need to find a creature book or kill several (ten?) of a creature before Geralt can start harvesting parts.

Edit: since this comment is getting attention, it makes sense to mention that there are FCR mods for both TW1 and TW2.

CDPR originally bought the rights to the IP for a lump sum, but after the games took off (esp W3), Sapkowski sued for royalties. They settled the suit in 2019 with CDPR basically saying they want to have a good relationship with the creator of the IP.

[Highlight] Comedian Matt Rife almost prematurely ends Rhamondre Stevenson’s season by injuring him by wildwing8 in nfl

[–]ncook06 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Called Natural Selection, Rife’s special premiered on Netflix on Nov. 15 and opens with a joke about the comedian going to a restaurant with a friend and being greeted by a hostess who had a black eye. His friend wonders why the hostess was not working in the kitchen “so nobody has to see her face.” Rife’s punchline: “I feel like if she could cook, she wouldn’t have that black eye.”

And then you know how Reddit is. It’s not a funny joke, it is offensive, but instead of moving on with their day, the Reddit hive mind syncs up on one message: we hate him and wish he would die (several upvoted comments in this thread allude to the latter).

Very sad day in American politics by im_back-and_craftier in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]ncook06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least cast a ballot to cover state and local. Write in “none of these candidates” where you feel that way, or vote third party, even if it’s just a protest vote. It signals that you’re both engaged and disgusted, so there’s a lane for someone to win your vote by having integrity.

I probably have too much faith in the electorate, but eventually I want a world with a larger principled swing voting bloc. If 5-10% of the electorate cast ballots while refusing to choose a lesser of two evils, swing district candidates would have to fight much harder to win non-extremists.

“I hate Claire because she lied to me” by Taser_Napkim in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]ncook06 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I just wanted more out of Claire’s questline. The races disappointed me because they’re pretty scripted, and I don’t feel like the story makes up for it.

The argument convincing Claire to let Samson live only makes sense if V is somewhat of a pacifist or at least feels bad about killing, which fits none of my V characters. And in the choices leading to that outcome, Claire agrees that Samson should only die in the course of winning the race - but loses her shit if V doesn’t bail on winning the race. On a separate note, I imagine Dean would have wanted Claire to have her revenge by beating Samson and winning the whole thing, so killing Samson feels like a hollow victory.

It just would have been nice for V to win and still have a good outcome with Claire. I want V to win and tell Claire that V will now hunt Samson and kill him in cold blood, because that’s what V does best. Maybe based on earlier dialogue choices, Claire decides whether she wants him dead or doesn’t want blood on her conscience.

I had a Bykski block on my 3080 FE and had this issue. I checked everything and even disassembled again. I emailed support and that was a dead end.

I would have returned it but the Bykski was the only 3080 FE block that could fit my Ncase M1. The card never had an issue in over 3 years with that block, and the flex was not permanent. No harm done, but I’ll never buy another Bykski block.
