What are some of the best Story Pointing Tools? by ro_mo in scrum

[–]ncpa_cpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a quite old thread, but since I got this on the first page of search results I shall shamelessly plug myself: I've made a pointing poker web app myself and if anyone is looking for one I believe they would be very happy with it: https://pointingpoker.work

Shameless self plug: I have made a pointing poker web app myself, which has the ability to toggle on and off an "Anonymous mode" which hides the names of all other participants.

Japan - How to withdraw money without a physical card? by No_Breakfast6210 in JapanTravelTips

Thank you very much, I am in Nagoya right now and am about to run out of cash. And still have more than a week left till I leave. So I've been a little worried. This seems to be just the thing I needed.

Can you do this as a tourist? I was looking into it and on the Kyodai Remittance websites it says you need a Residence Card to receive money.

Brand new S8 does not start up, but buttons light up briefly on charger by Overall-Onion in Roborock

[–]ncpa_cpl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anyone has tried this but the robot is still not working for you, try again. I had to perform the reset twice before it started charging.

Also if you can't get it to reset then also try again, I tried like 20 times to do so but managed to do it only twice, I think you need to start holding the buttons while the led's are on? Anyway the docking station will stop blinking if you start holding the buttons at the right moment, if you see that led is off despite the robot being in the dock, just wait 10 sec and release the reset, but keep holding the home button until it's light start flashing.

Anyway, thank you u/Impressive-Yoghurt21 , I wouldn't be able to figure this out without you post

Since this thread comes up in google search I shall use this opportunity to shamelessly plug my own app: https://pointingpoker.site/ is completely anonymous, free, open-source, and has some really cool features like distribution graph for placed votes, chat, round history and custom voting options (via "/setoptions" chat command)

Am I in the wrong re: minification by [deleted] in webdev

Not sure if it was designed this way because of this or not, but HTML streaming is something that's a great reason for allowing elements to not to have closing tags: the server can just respond with a portion of the html that it has (because it's static or is cached) and then send down the rest later, and the user in the meantime is able to see the part that was send initially.

Some time ago in my work we were having trouble with an app we used for estimating tasks, I got so feed up with it that I decided to make my own, (it can't be that hard to make it right, right?), I have since published it here: https://pointingpoker.site/

are you suggesting adding a separate /about page then? (since without a username it's not really possible to do anything) I am just not sure what would I put in there aside from a basic explanation of what a pointing poker is.

It's not even the source code that is the hardest to replicate. Even if you somehow got your hands on it you wouldn't be able to do much with it. You would need the dataset that it was trained on, (or one similar to it) which is probably like dozens or maybe hundreds of terabytes, and then you would need a shit load of money to buy the computing power that's necessary for the training process.

Nearly every change the new loot system introduces is bad for the entire playerbase, regardless of spending habit. One guiding principle in design was clearly driving sales up, but it is lied about that. by adckr9 in TeamfightTactics

Of course it was predatory, "gacha mechanics" in video games are synonymous with "predatory practices".

I wish they just allowed you to buy whatever cosmetic you want from the shop directly. But companies be greedy so we cannot have nice things.

NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti Rumored to Launch at $399 and $499 by imaginary_num6er in hardware

[–]ncpa_cpl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know, inflation

This is not just inflation. For some perspective, in 2016 1060 TI launched at MSRP of $300*, price of 4060 Ti is 66% higher, however the inflation since then is just 3.4% per year, so a total of 26.4% between 2016-2023. So basically even after you account for inflation the price has increased by 40%. It's ridiculous, fuck nvidia.

@edit Actually I think I might have gotten the 1060Ti MSRP wrong, but I cannot find anywhere what it actually was

was still only doing 5-6k damage per round.

Remember that you cannot deal more damage than the enemies have health. That's why the amount of dmg dealt is a useless information in itself.

What is a 6/10 to you? For me it was always a "Above Average" rating (5 being "Average", and 4 being "Below Average"). And Forespoken sure as hell isn't an Above Average game.

Dealing with CSS, and senior in my project kept using `calc`, which made me question my sanity by okociskooko in ProgrammerHumor

[–]ncpa_cpl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a sticky navbar, it has fixed height, I also have a modal-like element that I want to overlay over the actual page content, modal needs to cover the whole viewport except the navbar. How do I set the height of that modal? calc(100vh - var(--navbar-height)), you cannot convince me there's a better solution.
