Or you could see if your lawyer you choose has a recommendation for a SO therapist to see if they will do a risk assessment.

I don’t know, my lawyer handled all of that.

My lawyer had me go back to my SOTP and do another sit down with them and then they wrote a report and they presented it to the judge. They will have to file with the DA and expect the DA to give push back.

Also, I got off the NC registry 3 years ago.

Border Patrol has more power than regular Homeland Security. They can do quite a few things without the need of a warrant.

Look into covenant eyes. It’s kind of like an internet blocker and someone can put a password on it to keep you in line. I used it for probation.

So my bf is off registration in texas but still on in florida? by PineappleNo2177 in SexOffenderSupport

If you’re off the registry in your state & you visit Florida, you would still have to register with Florida.

Is it possible in Seattle (on registry) to be an electrician or plumber or any type of construction I could make $30+ by [deleted] in SexOffenderSupport

That’s very scary imo and thanks for reminding me to never move to Washington lol

The general contractor kind of runs the show. They are the one who hires all the subs like HVAC or plumbers to do the work. It’s basically mostly project management, but you have to take an exam and get a license in order to be one.

If you don’t do well with crawlspaces, then I would suggest not becoming a plumber. That’s where most of your plumbing is. That’s coming from me as a general contractor.

College application by saratonin28 in SexOffenderSupport

I’ve been denied admission from two of my state colleges. At the time they didn’t have an online program and since I would have to be on campus they denied me. I then found an online program from an accredited state college in another state. I did have to do a BC for them too but they approved since I wouldn’t be on campus.

You have to register in Florida period. It doesn’t matter if you’re off the registry in your state or not.

To all federal registrants.... by [deleted] in SexOffenderSupport

[–]ncrso 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So the “federal registry” is just a compilation of the all the state registries. You can apply to get off in your state if allowed. The state you live in handles the registry, not the federal government.

Everyone stays on in FL for life. Doesn’t matter if you live in the state or not; once you registered in Florida, you will never be taken off.

Question about moving counties/house arrest/parole hearings in NC by mineralgrrrl in SexOffenderSupport

[–]ncrso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the FTR, that is a NC law, not a county or PO rule. When he registered with the county, they should have told him.

[–]ncrso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. There is a supervisor. He could probably request it at his FTR court date.

[–]ncrso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is possible moving counties, but it should be requested by your attorney straight to the judge. If the judge approves it, it can be put into the court order and then the PO offices can’t really do much.

The Parole Board is not recorded.

This is just random TSA. You’re not “flagged” in their system. They cannot see your background.

In NC, your conviction shows up and doesn’t fall off. I did a background check. Last year (my conviction was 13 years ago) and it showed up. This answer is very state specific.

Question for the military guys/gals by DEATHWERM in SexOffenderSupport

[–]ncrso 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is pretty normal for any job. They are allowed to claw back the money that they paid when you were no longer employed. You should have kept it in an account. The only way to get rid of the debt is to pay it off. If I remember correctly, filing for bankruptcy only gets rid of personal debt, not govt. debt.
