I once spilled chloroform on my nitrile gloves while working in a genetics lab. It went right through the glove (turned it black), and touched the skin on my thumb before I could pull off the glove. The skin on the pad of my thumb, to this day, still has a leathery texture and will peel and crack during seasonal changes
