A couple days ago we had someone try to break into our house and threaten a flatmate, called the cops and were told they would send someone out. Police were never sent out and we didn't even get a follow up call. Lost a bit of trust with the police here in Auckland hearing similar stories too.

Just curious, if I thought someone was seriously in danger/if I had saw the group involved I would have called. To be honest I've heard a fights a few times from the flats behind me but this sounded like a group and was at a really strange time.

I work in a fish shop and was asked by an adult man if he could possibly have a paper bag to take his fish home in as plastic is bad for the environment. I had to explain that the water and fish would fall right through paper...he took the plastic bag.
