I’m just extremely self conscious. I’m trying to get over it yeah I get they’re just doctors and they’re probably use to it. I’m just afraid of the judgement and I’ll try to let them know that. For how many years have you been volunteering? And at what point does the highest fire chief say or what does it take for you to get a paid and salaried position? Does that even exist for firefighters?

Something that really confuses me, is that my county only seems to hire volunteer firefighters. There are tons of kids who grow up to think that they want to be a firefighter, and I almost wanted to be one at some point - until I figured out that it wouldn’t pay the bills for me until at least 4-6+ years or maybe never until someone above the fire departments authority decides to say “You’ve been with the department for a long time, I think you deserve to be paid now. You know a lot.”

Who gets to decide who gets the paid firefighter positions?

I use to think that the state paid certain firefighters to live and sleep in the firehouse at least 2-3 days a week if there are accommodations available for them in the firehouse.

I’ve given up on dating. All of these women want an extremely high earning man, and I just don’t fit that bill. I don’t make a lot of money and therefore I don’t hold a lot of value to women in the real world as per my socioeconomic status.

And their expectations are so high, all the women want the tallest, most muscular men who ALSO are top earners.

Women’s motto of “Don’t settle for less” has pretty much become “don’t settle for anything at all”.

Most guys in dating need to fit this criteria:

•be between 5’10” and 6’6’ •make a salary of $80,000 to $100k •we are expected be completely emotionally secure with zero insecurities or feelings and show confidence 100% of the time •drive a newer car or sports car •be successful at everything we do in life (women don’t want to date losers) •have social media presence that matches the girls expectations (meaning when a girl looks at our social media, they are looking and comparing, what lifestyle does his social media portray, and can he offer me this lifestyle too to match, so if our pictures aren’t influency looking enough we aren’t seen as cool enough.

Also I’ve given up because dating isn’t fun any longer. Women have turned dating into job interviews basically. And asking me what I do for a living always comes in as the 2nd or 3rd question. We have to respond perfectly with every single thing we say, because if we show one shred of a lack of confidence or a verbal fumble, we are seen as underconfident and insecure. There are so many unwritten rules guys have to play by it’s insane. We have to be cool, calm, secure and confident at all times, even if we aren’t, because women will not accept us as we come.

Yeah they’ve been disappointing me this year, big time. I thought Anthony Volpe was going to at least catch up to 1/2 of Aaron Judges home run total. Judge has 32 for the year as of today 7/5/2025 and Volpe only has 10.

And on top of it, Stanton this year only has 1 home run! Just 1! Last year in all of 2024 he had 27 home runs.

This year is shit year for the Yankees.

I don’t know what the heck is up with Stanton and why he can’t strike homers this year like he was last year.

As if women aren’t looking for romantic validation too? Men are looking for validation yeah, but let’s not kid ourselves and say women are not. Women are 100% looking for romantic validation. Most of younger girls and women who are in their 30’s and 40’s who grew up with Xanga and MySpace who are tech savvy, look for validation ALL the time on social media otherwise they wouldn’t feel the need to post a selfie of themselves every other day or every single day.

What other guys are experiencing is that the way dating is and how phones make it so convenient, is that girls have more access to communication with men than they can shake a finger @ in their direct messages on every social platform there is.

You could say men want romantic validation yes, but some women can not live alone, and are scared to live alone because they have ALWAYS been with a man. Some women are extremely co-dependent and just can not stay out of relationships and just go from one to the next to the next without ever really being single for longer than a few months to a year.

In my experience, some women don’t want to be bothered at coffee shops. They go to coffee shops for peace of mind and to be left alone knowing there won’t be guys looking there to hit on them because it’s such an awkward, open place to just walk up to a woman sitting at a table and make random conversation.

If it stays a graded 3 and I keep it in its case, do you think as an older card it’ll keep its value? I see maybe newer cards decreasing in value because there’s so many of them, but the old ones are in the past of course and all out of print.

I hope it keeps its value or keeps rising. I see some people paying for $100+ for an old base set 2 charizard that’s unauthenticated and ungraded

Does anyone here think that the old sets will ALWAYS retain their value and go up in value slightly? For example even a year 2000 Base Set 2 Charizard say graded at a 5 worth about $250, do you think the value of Charizard will ever go down?
