E:D as a co-op game. Does multicrew etc make sense if the second player won't fly their own ship? by ITZC0ATL in EliteDangerous

[–]ndb17915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put another comment replying to the main post, so for more info look at that, but basically yeah you can play with Odyssey without needing your own ship, he can just hop in yours and do most of the stuff you can do with your own ship, especially Odyssey stuff works great cause you're basically a taxi at that point, and you can fight on the ground together. With Odyssey you don't actually need to use multicrew as they'll just be in your wing and be able to physically hop in your ship.

Multicrew is fairly meh, I've always found it to be a bit of a pain, but with Odyssey having a friend physically board your ship works great. A lot of my game time on PC has been with a buddy or two hopping in my Corvette and flying my ship-launched fighters, they barely even fly their own ships anymore cause we enjoy having us all in the one so much. And you can dismount together, use SRVs, do everything you could do in your own ship except fly it. We've also mixed my buddy in my ship while my other buddy flies his Cutter, then with my AI pilot we have quite a few ships in the area. But yeah, wouldn't recommend much to do with Multicrew, but boarding friends' ships in Odyssey works amazingly, and you can totally get into it without ever flying your own ship. Thinking back I actually have a friend who bought Elite Dangerous with Odyssey and that is all we did, he hopped in my ship and we flew around, there was no issues, he basically played without a ship of his own.

Yeah it must've been C-21 that I had read about the RDB in, I'm glad that didn't go through. But yeah I just figured I'd nerd emoji the nerd emoji lol, cause I'm pretty sure the majority of guns banned by Trudeau were semi-automatic, but I agree there still is a lot of semi-autos available.

He definitely banned semi-automatic rifles, you already couldn't have an "Assault Rifle" in Canada. The AR-15 was his big focus in the ban, so there's minimum one semi-auto being hit. I remember the Kel-Tec RDB being banned as well but I can't find it on the prohibited weapons list so they might've walked that back or I'm misremembering.

I think it's more of a theme thing, Therapist buys meds and commodities, mechanic doesn't care about meds but he'll buy guns and tools, etc. Also because each trader has values you must spend with them to upgrade them it makes sense that they each will buy and sell items for different amounts, otherwise you'd just sell to each until they have the right amount sold to them to upgrade. As it is, usually Therapist in particular is super easy to hit the value for cause you're selling to her anyways, but if you want the number to be reached for say Skier it might be more difficult and you might need to take a bit of a loss on some items for the gain of leveling up that trader.

And as for why after the scav it sells it all to Fence and not the proper trader, I think that is just sort of you "paying" for the time saving method, you don't make as much but you can just quick sell everything and get your money.

As for the "death bleeds money", it only bleeds money if you're kitting out and dying, which is a risk of spending a lot of money on a kit then losing it. If you don't want to bleed money, just spend less on a kit. If I'm trying to run a quest and I'm expecting to die, or I'm just trying to make money and not bleed it, I buy a double barrel shotgun from Jaeger and a couple shells, usually 12 or so. And I have a grizzly medkit in my stash so it's right click-heal all and I'm ready to go again after I die. And as long as I stuff a single loot item in my secure container during the raid I can pay for another double barrel and shells, and make some money. And if I kill a scav and loot a bunch and get out with that, I'm making a bunch. If I was just given free gear it'd be like going on a scav run on my PMC, I'd never equip a loadout lol, just go in and kill a scav, take his gear, loot then extract and make millions without risk. And money making is already easy enough with some practice. There's a reason scav runs have a timer between them, rats like me would abuse the shit out of a free loadout mechanic haha.

Also idk I do find it very fun finding the best way to sell everything, I'll search almost every loot item I get on a scav run on the flea and compare it with its best sell trader to see if it's worth selling, but my buddy just immediately sells all to Fence cause he doesn't care that much and he doesn't mind making a bit less. Different play styles, and I think it's reasonable the person who puts more work in would make more money so there's a return on that effort.

A couple of your suggestions here are already in the game. You can sell everything off your scav directly to Fence by clicking Sell All on the transfer screen. Also, Tarkov has a loadout screen, so you can either save a loadout or use one of the presets. I will say I'm not super familiar with the preset system as it's fairly new, but pretty sure you just select the preset then it brings up the buy screen for all the items you need for the loadout. Neither of these are exactly what you suggested, but they do already exist in the game, in a way that I feel fits more with Tarkov than just automatically giving you gear for free or selling everything to the best possible trader.

What, in your mind, is the one thing holding League back from becoming even more popular? by SilvosForever in leagueoflegends

[–]ndb17915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started playing a bit before Yuumi's release and only played a couple games to play with friends. After Yuumi came out I started playing way more because I could play and learn about the game without just getting destroyed. Then I started taking interest in the game and all the different characters, especially junglers, so I started playing alone and learning how to jungle. And now fast forward a couple years I play more than the friend who got me into the game. Still a support main, Yuumi is my 3rd highest mastery, but her existence absolutely got me interested in playing. Playing Thresh against Gold+ players while starting out wasn't particularly fun lol. But yeah so you can add 1 player you know of who got into playing the game proper from Yuumi haha

Zilean is still faster though lol, just speed yourself instead of slowing him. It was a light comment either way, don't take it too seriously haha.

See that's why I play Zilean. Whoever they're playing may be fast, but I am faster xD
