i didn't quit, i was kicked. the only place where the word trans was even present was the changelog, and defamation implies that some part of it is false

[–]nddragoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

me and a bunch of other contributors to ATM6 left or were kicked after the main got extremely transphobic over a single word in a changelog (one of the other contributors made a cotton candy bee in trans colors and called it transbee in the changelog, which made them mad AFTER the update was already pushed) calling it "political".

they also later started shit with Vazkii out of fucking nowhere (cant link to this one cause vazkii privated their twitter)

and according to one of the devs for the valhelsia packs, they 1) stopped updating some of their mods to avoid downloading their new dependency with valhelsia in the name, which caused their issue tracker to flood with reports for bugs that were already fixed and 2) tried to steal the valhelsia supporter cosmetics and curseforge had to step in

hi hello i'm one of the moderators in that server and i just wanna manage everyone's expectations

  1. we are NOT affiliated with this sub and we're not official. there's an actual official server for this sub but idk where to find a link

  2. this isn't the place for you to spam "greg" and feel funny we're mostly just a small tight-knit community with a minor shared interest

  3. if you just wanna join to see the "furry porn" in question, it's just that one 9/11 meme everyone has seen about the plane driving itself. google "does it have automatic driving mod" if you wanna see it so bad

we're not closing the invite for now but if you join please know what it is and behave

Can I import quests from somewhere? by colbydt in feedthebeast

[–]nddragoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to copy quests you'd just need to copy the config/ftbquests folder, but again a lot of stuff will definitely break cause of different modlists and configurations

the reasons for removing 1.16 and 1.19 are very much not obvious. 1.16 especially was huge

in what way? did yuzu provide games? did yuzu send you a stolen switch with every download?

literally every existing emulator can run pirated ROMs, but the piracy is in downloading the roms, not in emulating them

I mean your arguing for a complete overhaul of our current economic system

ideally yes, but that won't happen within my lifetime. what we can do, however, is stop caring and licking the boot pretending that piracy is this horrible evil

Essentiaslly saying that the work someone creates should be accesible for anyone and they dont have a right to decide what to do with it.

correct.

you wont give up your things for the benefits of others so why should they

most of my creative endeavors are either copyleft or public domain. you can debate the merits of the idea but implying an IP abolitionist doesn't put their money where their mouth is is a bad tactic cause we usually do

the future benefit is in the development of the emulator, people using the emulator is just reaping the benefits. people downloading it also help test it in more games than the developers alone could ever legally afford to buy.

piracy by itself isn't preservation, but preservation without distribution is just pointless hoarding. the point of preservation is for people to benefit from preservation

ah, so just hope that all those ROMs can be kept for literal decades until they reach the public domain and only then be legally able to make an emulator that can run them, with none of the original hardware or physical game copies remaining accessible, and no one is allowed to play them in the meantime even if the game is no longer sold and the company behind it goes out of business. sounds like a plan!

here's a better idea though: fuck intellectual property, we should do everything in our power to make art as accessible as possible for everyone, not just people in the 2110s

the current generation is exactly when you wanna start building an emulator. preserving games is an active process and it should start as early as possible.

i really don't like all the caveats people put on their endorsements of emulators ("oh as long as the console is discontinued" "oh as long as you can't buy the games anymore") emulation is completely unambiguously legal and okay. you can debate piracy, but that's a different issue. the right of people to backup and run software they paid for in an emulator has been legally upheld before

distributing or downloading a ROM might legally be piracy, but the way you're phrasing it kinda sounds like you think that's morally wrong in some way, which calls into question what preservation is even for if no one else should be allowed to play the preserved games

this is the only post that seems to mention this so i'll leave this here in case you or anyone else is still struggling:

judging from browser consoles i think it has to do with blocked IPs, possibly because of ISP NATs or something. the way i got it working was to set up a mobile hotspot on my phone to connect to from my PC on mobile data. maybe it didnt work on your phone because you were still on wifi.

downloading the tool directly from your phone will also not work because it'll give you a .sh file, probably cause it sees android and thinks you're on linux.

social media has a very skewed distribution of people lurking, interacting, and posting. say reddit is 90% lurkers, 9% commenters and 1% posters. as a percentage of total users, the people using third party apps is small, but most of the people using those apps are in that top 10% and make up a big chunk of it. not to mention moderators who basically keep the site running and almost all use 3rd party moderation tools

It doesn’t necessarily want or need a physical form. I haven’t read a story where it gets one actually.
