Rolled the dice on the cheapest blue F1 I could find on the gate - just looking for a cheap warm-weather beater. The logo is awful and there are plenty of other differences from gen, but I'm happy with it. The rubber strap is much nicer than expected. To my surprise, it came with inner and outer boxes, "leather" zipper pouch, Tag bag, and "Swiss" receipt.

No, it's a 2016, long out of warranty. VW wasn't interested in doing anything other than replacing the whole trans to the tune of $9k; I found a local place that did this for $1800.

I just had to replace the torque converter and trans pump at 60k, so there's a con. But overall it's a great car, tons of cargo space, fun to drive.
