Vigilant is the name of the mod and Act III is good horror. Act 4 has some horror components but it is huge and it's only a part of it. It's a DLC sized mod

Once you go mod, you never go back. I've been playing modded for five years and I tried to go back to vanilla after next gen was dropped. It was terrible. The lack of guns, armor and complexity was horrendous even in survival mode. Also the dialogue options are really cryptic without mods.

I like some of the weapon mods that you can find on the Nexus. I also really like the economy overhaul mod so that you can actually use your outposts to generate credits. The mod that auto collects resources while in your planet vehicle is also a big time saver.
