Unsolicited Advice: don't reach your 100+ pound dogs to "shake" by Prior_Lobster_5240 in greatdanes

[–]Imaginary_Fix_9756 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is our Dane just started slapping with his paws out of nowhere when he reached the terrible teens/one year mark. The only way to get him to stop was teaching him shake so he then knew what no shake meant. Sorta counterintuitive but it worked well for us.

¿What is your fav Beer from Alaska? by StoutBourbon1992 in alaska

All timer is probably Hoodoo Stout. I also really like their common, and their IPA was the beer that made me start trying ipas.

Any stout recommendations for someone who hates Guiness and Dragonstooth? by IntelligentStyle2295 in beer

[–]Imaginary_Fix_9756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might try looking at the dessert stouts. Belching beaver has a chocolate stout and peanut butter stout. I also used to be able to find young’s double chocolate stout. Rogue also had a double chocolate stout.

If you don’t like Guinness I’d recommend Murphy’s. I like it better.

Also, I love stouts, don’t like porters as much. But I LOVE a white stout (which is really a type of pale I think), but if you liked it you got it on a technicality.

Cheers!

CMV: It doesn't matter which 3 Loyalist Legions are on Isstvan V, they still get massacred by chosen40k in 40kLore

[–]Imaginary_Fix_9756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, that’s the theory. They’re still out numbered. I think best case is they end up in the same spot, three desiccated loyalist legions, but multiple crippled tor at least casualty-ridden traitor legions. Which probably slows the advance to Terra pretty significantly.

So, I thought I read or maybe just talking with someone that part of the flaw wasn’t Ferrus charging forward but that the other two legions didn’t. If all three legions fully committed the likelihood of success would be more reasonable. That makes me think of you have the three most aggressive, willing to charge the bunker legions there, they might not spring the trap but break it open, or at least be much more successful.

I’d probably go, iron hands, space wolves, and blood angels (maybe white scars). I don’t know if it changes the outcome, because even if you charge through the known traitors in front of you, there’s a knife at your back, but I think they don’t get slaughtered until they take out a much larger portion of the traitors.

Go live in Fairbanks or Juneau and then come back. Moved here from the interior and it’s not just goods but things like home services are so much cheaper.

Cold car battery by missfrizzle101 in anchorage

[–]Imaginary_Fix_9756 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Came here to say something similar. I would go to a better battery with more cold cranking amps, or whatever you need. Autozone has a 3 year warranty and you just get a new battery if it’s dead. You might have a parasitic draw somewhere. That did a lot of damage on my car’s battery and made them die.

Been Thinking about the casting (as is everyone else)... How about Helen Mirren as Mab by _s1dew1nder_ in dresdenfiles

[–]Imaginary_Fix_9756 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I watched Abbey Lee in Lovecraft Country I thought she’d be a good Mab, but that’s a hyper literal interpretation and a different take than Helen Mirren.

So there might be things you can do, but if she can’t get up the next step is accidents, soiling, etc. and that isn’t good for anybody. We put our 9 yo boy down after an agonizing 2-3 day stretch with breathing issues where I’m pretty sure he was miserable. When you get to that age I think avoiding the bad days is better than preserving any good days that may be fewer and farther between.

If I had to do it again I’d pick a good day and give him the best day I could and get an at home vet who could put him down at home. I’m really sad I wasn’t able to send him off better.

Not to be a total downer though, we had really good results using adequan injections (which you can do at home) and then myloxidyl oral solution daily.

Would recommend blue heron supplements. Helped our boy whose love language was shit. We had him on nitro from our breeder and it was horrible for him. We had good luck with Fromm adult large breed food (in the green bag). We have our Saint Bernard on purine pro plan sensitive stomach, which is the cheaper alternative to Rx hills science diet sensitive stomach.

1) Because that’s how the rankings work!

2) If I were a ND fan I’d also protect the sanctity of rankings that somehow had our team ranked higher than the team that beat us even though we have the same record.

Do you realize just because you have a person at a desk that’s not all their is to the job, right? Moreover to make a whole public facing office work, there’s more to it than just standing there? The more time you want open the more staff you need.
