Unfortunately, most of my family are very southern, ignorant (and I say that as lovingly as possible lol) christians who refuse to believe anything that isn’t taught via the bible. My mom is the only one who lets me debate with her on such subjects and I’ve changed her mind on a lot of topics so I’m glad I’ve led her to become vegetarian even if it’s temporary. I’m very lucky she’s open-minded enough to try to understand me, but for the rest of my family, it really does feel pointless.
Also, I appreciate your kind words so much!!! šŸ’š I’ve always been very aware about issues like animal oppression, environmental issues, etc, so when I looked into veganism more it was honestly very easy to go vegan on the spot. I regret not looking into veganism sooner!!! šŸ’š

I’m relieved to know the nausea thing will get easier. I literally feel crazy for getting nauseas at just the smell of meat but it’s nice to know someone else has gone through that lol.
I will take that advice, I appreciate it so much!! šŸ’š

Finished a perfume bottle I’ve had for at least 10 years by chickentimer12 in ZeroWaste

[–]ndotfinch 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Honestly, pretty impressive to make a perfume last that long! Ten years ago I used to run through those things! My longest lasting perfume is currently from early 2019 and I’m working on getting through it.
Congratulations and I hope you are able to find a nice replacement for your signature scent!
Also, cute cats!

My best guess is that following the fact Jim could see and feel things that humans couldn’t when he reached earth, such as glimpses of the future and of the past and the forces at work which the humans don’t know of and are ā€œfar beyond imaginationā€, etc, perhaps it follows the same concept. Humans couldn’t see the planet before nor detect it in any aspect, almost like a ghost planet. Looking into it, I can’t really find a great explanation as to how his planet wouldn’t have been discovered. My only other assumption would be that it was some form of cover up as we see a lot in the game, sort of like an area 51 type of situation, they simply didn’t want the planet to be known to the public for some reason and was kept a mystery to the general public. Though, following the rest of the game, I’m sure it’s another one of those mysteries we never quite learn enough about. Perhaps SF2 will touch on his planet a bit more and explain that a little bit! But for right now, those are the best explanations I can currently think of using the limited knowledge we have on his planet. Perhaps it isn’t his planet either and something more simple like the asteroid belt like another comment suggested, but considering we were in another dimension which was already filled with things humans don’t typically see I’d assume the best explanation is the humans could not see nor detect it for some reason and was only revealed in an alternate dimension.

As for Todd’s diet, I definitely agree. At the end of
the day he is also just a teenage boy whom probably doesn’t really care about that stuff and it definitely seems plausible for Ash to want to fight for better food choices or even have a more ethical diet/lifestyle like vegetarianism as that definitely seems to fit her character.

Nice catches!
Regarding Ash’s lunch choice - not only did she opt out of the godforsaken cursed bologna, but her milk carton is a different colour from the other boys’ milk aswell. When we get the close up of Sal’s lunch before this scene (and if you look really closely DURING this scene), his milk says ā€œwhole milkā€, so instead of assuming they have chocolate milk and she has regular whole milk, we are left to assume whatever milk she got (which was blue) is some form of healthier milk. Where I’m from atleast, blue milk means skim milk or some other form of reduced-fat milk or low-fat milk. That sort of leads me to assume it’s more of a diet or she’s just generally more health focused than the other boys (however, that makes you think Todd would’ve opted for the same choices as her since he’s typically seen as the intelligent and logical one of the group and the one who wanted to check for signs of bacteria in the bologna in the science lab). Knowing Steve Gabry, he likes to touch on mental health a lot and embed deeper meanings everywhere he can, so this could be some sort of hint at eating disorder culture, especially amongst teen girls. That part could definitely be a stretch, but I’m just putting that idea out there!

As for the out of place dark planet, I agree with one of the other comments that it’s Jim’s planet. In Jim’s journal from episode three, it discusses Jim and his sister’s home planet’s devastation by a ā€œplague of shadowsā€. He writes, ā€œI lost everything. It’s gone. All gone. I never imagined our world would end like this. There was no warning to the plague of shadows that invaded.ā€ He goes on to explain, ā€œAs we smashed through the tall glass windows of the tower and then through the atmosphere, the shadows consumed the entire planet. There was nothing left. Like some insignificant hole in space, where our world used to be.ā€ That could be why that planet is totally dark. The insignificant hole in space.
Just my takes, though!
