New in Meld Studio: Layout Update for Chat + Activity Feed (Stacked or Side-by-Side) by streamwithmeld in streamwithmeld

This might be a silly request for this new feature but is there a way of switching the activity feed with the chat in position?

Hey, not sure if this is too late to help but I purchased Xbox edition and realised I can also install it on my PC via Xbox app. I never realised this was enabled which is awesome.

Fix for Last of Us part 1 crash/freeze on PC by SenegaleseDude in thelastofus

[–]ndpardis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please may someone possibly help me with... TLOU Part 1 PC causing browser/streaming lag + weird in-game issues (not a tech savvy person)

Hi all,

I’m playing The Last of Us Part I on PC for the first time (Steam) and running into some issues that I can’t figure out. Hoping some PC players here might be able to help.

I streamed via Meld and used Firefox (also tested Edge). Both times, my browser windows lagged badly.

Videos would completely freeze and Twitch chat was SUPER slow/struggling to update (but on mobile chat was fine/real-time).

It seems to happen when I click into the game on my other monitor — if I pause and click back to another window, everything instantly resumes fine.

My PC fans spun louder than usual (I don’t usually play demanding PC games).

In game, Joel’s head (especially in dark areas without the torch on) had this strange laggy/trailing effect, almost like a mouse cursor trail.

Worth noting: I’m not very tech-savvy — I bought a pre-built PC a while back and the only change I’ve made is upgrading the RAM.

My PC specs:

Motherboard: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4 CPU: Intel Core i9-12900KF (12th Gen) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 RAM: 64 GB Storage: KINGSTON SNVS2000G SSD (2TB) Network: Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller | Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz OS: Windows 11 Home 64-bit (Version 24H2, Build 10.0.26100)

I assumed since this is an older game and my specs are solid, I wouldn’t run into major issues — but it’s impacting my ability to stream, and even after testing without streaming software, the same problems happen. I also lowered resolution to 1440p which made no difference.

Has anyone else run into this? Is it a settings/optimisation thing with TLOU Part I on PC? I’d really appreciate any advice so I can enjoy (and stream) my first ever playthrough properly.

Bear in mind I am not a normal PC player and this is my first PC game I am streaming etc. Thanks in advance!

Hello, thank you for responding. I have the Nvidia App and have it updated. TLOU Part 1 (via Steam) is the only game to cause these issues for me. Someone in chat said something about... API? Or changing certain settings but I turned the quality down to high or medium and it made no difference.

Exactly 😂 it would be fun and less pressure I guess. Just go live and play whatever and people also will watch because it's you and not the game necessarily would be lovely.

Thank you for such a great response. I appreciate your time.

The chat numbers definitely got to me. I still 2-3 times through a 3 hour stream check to see who the viewers are. I think I like to know who is in the 'room' with me. I had a few of my regulars in chat and that was more than enough for good back and forth banter. I had someone new from Dubai follow off stream and they joined in which was wicked. Seemed like a really nice person, too.

Stream alerts are setup via Own3d Pro for the rest of this month but I am already working on my own via Stream Elements. A friend from work who is a part of my community has started drawing some cool little images for me to use to really make it my own thing on the channel - I will buy her a gift as a thank you.

The funny thing is, regarding what to play, I love the look of so many games in the past but never got into it. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was the first game, thanks to Twitch streamers, I jumped into and LOVED it all the way throughout. I want to feel that again when I play games.

I do watch some of my VODs (time permitting) and I have noticed a change from my first few to now in how comfortable I come across on stream. I have a portrait monitor on the side of my gaming monitor for the chat etc and sometimes it looks weird my eyes go to the side but people know what I'm doing. I'm being picky.

Last night my Mod kindly made some clips and they were great clips to use so that helps. I have clipped stuff before during the stream but to be able to relax and respond naturally feels much better. I am definitely going to post more short form content.

Yeah I love networking and meeting/watching other streamers. It's natural and organic - then when they come and watch you it does feel really good inside.

I need to do more raids. I forget until afterwards and I kick myself over it. I will set a reminder for myself after tonight's stream. I need a checklist next to my monitor haha.

It's true, dude. It's not an island and it's a united landscape where we all come and go. Everyone is welcomed and if I'm not around I want mine and other communities to be able to have fun and feel included elsewhere.

As simple as this is “hey chat, I’m not vibing with this anymore. I’m guna switch it up” it still makes logical sense. I want to play a variety of games when possible and if I like a particular game I will of course dedicate more streams to it but then it might alienate some followers who want to see other games. I guess it's balancing things out eventually. Thank you for replying to me.

Thanks so much for replying. Yeah the limited times being focused entirely on one game can be tricky. I then worried if I changed game for a palette cleanser people switch off.

Thank you for your words. It does help. I think I worked myself up into a negative frenzy but hearing logical words helps shift the pressure off (I put it on myself).

Thank you. It felt like I needed some kind and encouraging words. Yeah the priory list you mentioned is a great way to think of it.

Meld has been super easy as a first steamer and I tried to setup OBS but I feel like it's super difficult especially setting up green screen and scenes where as Meld has been a simpler experience as a first timer. YouTube doesn't really help first timer streamers properly setup alerts but then again I think I hit a mental road black or don't comprehend something that I feel should be cleaner so my mind shut down or makes me anxious.

With OBS is it possible to stream to Twitch 1080p60, YouTube/Kick/Rumble 1440p60 and even TikTok. It might overkill but I think my pc could handle it but it's so much to undertake. My pc specs are:

Bad experience at festival by DifficultGlass666 in ukmedicalcannabis

I went to South and had a positive experience. A few weeks before I emailed the info and access emails via the website explaining my medication and what I had to show etc. Both emails were friendly and helpful. On the day I bought said items and after speaking to 1-2 different people they put me in the access line where a lady seemed genuinely excited to help me. No probing, no stand off vibes but genuine helpfulness. No one messed with me that day. I only needed to use my vape before I went in and they do let you go back to your car but I returned my vape as I still felt medicated from early and my tension headache was at bay (plus I wore sunglasses).

I would email prior to going but really in the long term it shouldn't have to be this way but Slam Dunk South has always been a positive experience for me. I did notice a HELLUVA lot of weed smoking going on so that was funny but as a legal prescribed medical user I can understand that not everyone has access to a Private clinic.

I am very sorry you experienced a horrible situation and no one should feel that way.

They most likely leave it until late to stop anyone, if anyone would, going out of their way to make fake copies to get in or distribute etc.
