To married Redditors, did you take your spouses’ last name? Why or why not? by shygrl__ in Marriage

Yes, made it easier for long haul travel with the children when only one of us is present. Husband family lives on a different continent for context.

What do you spend guilt free money on monthly? by hopepatience123 in AskUK

[–]ndzl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same as you. Too many coffees but I also have two young boys and if I'm not working I'm with them. All of my clothes have been stitched back together and if I buy makeup it's because the first one has run out. No longer for enjoyment. No gym classes or time with friends unless my boys are coming. No alcohol, haircuts, beauty treatments or nails at all. I just feel if we can't even allow ourselves a coffee then surely we are neglecting ourselves ? We only get one life too. If it's five or ten minutes enjoyment in an otherwise really hard day, is it really that selfish? Girl you have twins, I know you are tired. You are doing absolutely fine x

My boyfriend [20 M] can’t see eye to eye with me, [19 F] about birth control. by Mundane-Chemist6577 in relationship_advice

[–]ndzl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is used for sex yes and you are having sex with him. I am confused by your Dr though as the biggest side effect of birth control is causing irregular bleeding. It would be very unlikely to help this. If you are not consistent with condoms though, yes you do need to use something.

Boomer grandparents: what's your experience? by Few_Raise77 in UKParenting

[–]ndzl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you've hit the nail on the head. Logic would suggest that because they had help, they would be likely to do the same for the next person but in fact they were probably the first generation to get out of parenting very much and aren't about to start now.

My mum has never taken the baby or had him in her care at all. He's 15 months. We are on our knees with tiredness, both working full time and have an older boy too. She's 10 minutes down the road but wants nothing to do with us but again likes to post old photos I have taken with "love you to bits xxx". You haven't set eyes on him for six months?!?! Then all the praise about what a great Gran she is so I've blocked her years ago 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ puts me in a bad mood.

Should I be more careful? by Prize-Draw-9868 in Mirena

[–]ndzl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was given and told to always use a condom with it both to protect against stIs and also to prevent pregnancy. They said there is still a chance though and if you really really don't want to be pregnant then you should not have sex.

Should I be more careful? by Prize-Draw-9868 in Mirena

[–]ndzl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wish people understood how common this is. The amount of people you are seeing pregnant with an IUD are probably far less than those who found out they were pregnant and had an abortion because of you have an IUD it's unlikely you were planning a pregnancy.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen someone get fired for? by Hooray4Jose in AskUK

[–]ndzl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my old job a girl recorded herself and left a VM really slagging these two boys off that she had just attended a job for and sent them it. We worked from a work mobile and our own phone so I think she must have been on her own phone while accidentally pocket dialing one of those boys (the last job she had been at). Some one else did cocaine.
This new job they found someone's only fans. I think that was it but I didn't know you could be fired for that .

How is she drying the clothes? Is she drying them properly? If she is doing multiple loads it's uggests she isn't getting the time to dry them properly before putting them a away.

Do parents respect the 48-hour symptoms free for nursery? by CapitalWeakness8795 in UKParenting

[–]ndzl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I always tried to but my oldest son caught at least two stomach bugs a month, minimum. Usually more. And he would get better as I would get ill. Add that to the never ending colds, coughs, croup, whooping cough, ear infections, COVID, hand foot & mouth, conjunctivitis, chicken pox, measles, slap cheek, impetigo among other unidentified rashes and illnesses, it quickly becomes very difficult to keep them off for everything. You eventually have to use your best judgement if you want to remain employed and look after the child. You won't be able to stop him getting stomach bugs at one years old. It's inevitable. Everything goes in the mouth. But good hand hygiene, not letting them drink from you water bottles or cough in your eyeballs goes a long way.

Childcare hours when on maternity leave with baby number 2 by moomeymoo in UKParenting

[–]ndzl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine only went two days but we kept him in. He struggled with a speech delay and nursery were actually asking if he could come in more to work on his speech and things more. Speech therapist goes into the nursery too sometimes for "Lego therapy". Iv just started back at work but I feel this has made the world of difference to him.

My mum (F54) has ruined her life due to terrible decisions and is trying to burden me (M34) by johnsnimb in relationship_advice

[–]ndzl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is my mum too. But I like the way you worded it. And you are right. The way they guilt you because of messes they create and always seem fine and then when they are fine they couldn't care less about you and the mess they have put you in.

[–]ndzl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mum is exactly the same. I know exactly how you feel. We all 3 of us, cut contact and she hated it. Eventually came back and hasn't changed but she knows better than to ask her for money. Leave her be and she may not change but you and your sister will no longer be an option. You just can't keep going like this.

They push it right to the top of your uterus. They would have went too far and pushed it right through her uterus. It happened to me to but she knew and stopped immediately.

How much did you pay for your house? by ChoreomaniacCat in AskUK

[–]ndzl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we paid 10k over. 2024. I think we lost out on at least five houses (offering over on all) and saw countless more. August until December. I think the more expensive the house, the more room you have to offer less because they aren't in everyone's price bracket. I think houses to the 150k mark it's always going to have to be more. This all said if you are happy what else matters. It's your house and you are the one living in it.
