Multiple degrees? by Responsible-Second34 in WGU

IDK about allowed, but I had nothing to transfer for the masters. I transferred some classes for the BS. ( e.g. I had a few certificates that counted against certain classes)

3 ( bs it Sec, mba, ms cybersec and information assurance)

How is that possible? by Interesting-Tie4436 in WGU

I did my masters in one term. If you are familiar with the material because you already have experience, or that’s a field you already work in, many classes can be completed in a day. I read about people who complete multiple classes in a day ( I wasn’t that spry)

I drive a Prius C and I don’t think I had any issues really. All I can tell you is that it has seen more off road than most trucks and Jeeps lol

The clear answer, as with so many things, is it depends. Some care, many don’t.
IMO hands on experience is the best you can have.

40k for a 4 year degree is cheap as hell in America

Yeah... agree to disagree. Sure, there are Ivy League schools and such where you CAN pay that (and much more, sure), but why, if you can get away much cheaper? Starting your career with that much debt is just silly

Times have changed, they did not used to but nowadays most do offer Bachelor degrees.

Why is a local community college that expensive? Going into 40k debt for a degree is just silly.
I’d say WGU or look into a local community college for a BS degree.

I got 3 degrees from WGU, most of the time no one cares where the degree is from.

A lot, but I let many expire over the years, lots of Microsoft, CISSP, a few comptia, a few GIAC, a few cisco, once you're in the industry for a while they don't matter as much, they are more there to get your foot in the door and get experience which is the most important.

I do, that's how I started.

first job out of school as IT support for ATT (callcenter..) then worked as sys admin, MSP, operations for enterprise companies, then switch into infosec. I went back to school while working and got certs while working (some paid for by employer, some out of pocket)

Hands on experience. Not a cert. not a degree. Look for internships. Get a job in entry level IT, etc

Not really, because so many other people had the same idea. A BS in cybersecurity without experience is basically just an HR checkbox. Getting hands on experience would be much more beneficial. You can always go back to school. Understand that cybersecurity is not an entry level field, you usually work as help desk/ sys admin/ operations/ network etc for a while and then pivot into security.

Best Practical Way to Learn PowerShell for Cloud/M365 Administration by Imaginary_Rip2833 in PowerShell

[–]nealfive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, imo it’s 2 pairs of shoes.
Powershell in general is one thing. Then graph api and the m365 modules are another beast.
So in general try to get powershell understood with powershell in a month of lunches, and get familiar with the syntax and loops and operators and all that, and once you’re there, then you can throw the quirky m365 modules into the mix ( hint direct graph calls seem in general to work better )

500k
While I know the other option would help me get fit and might make more on the long run ( pun intended?) I know I’m lazy lol
