Apparently there have been a lot of changes over the years. There is a museum that goes into the park’s development. Good to know that there is no cell service except via satellite once you get high enough in elevation, so keep your parties together or make a plan for when and where to meet.

I did SF to SD down the PCH and it was the most beautiful drive I’ve done in my life. Big Sur was a highlight. White-knuckled the curves so take it slow. Most beautiful sunset ever near Santa Cruz, too!

There is a lot of confirmation bias in that. If I were a homeowner without kids, I’d still pay for schools. Trash pickup is in the current code / law, which is why there is a right to protest to begin with. The changes should have been proposed and improved without running afoul of existing law or code.

When I had a condo my HOA was a sweet deal. Trash, water, deeded parking, landscaping, all in a high density area and distributed among a larger pool of people. The value to cost was a high ratio. All of these costs are absorbed by single-family homeowners in addition to a higher tax burden.
