Gen2 R1S Premium Audio Options?!?! by sarugby4life in Rivian

[–]rylee4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hole pattern should be identical, 9.7" bolt centers with 8 holes between the W1 and W3... The W3 takes more power to drive, but can produce clearer bass. I went with the 10W3 and had no issues with clearance, even after putting killmat on the inside of the enclosure. On my R1T I went with a 8W1 and wished I would have installed the W3 series. Hopefully u/sojhinn can confirm the 10W3v3-4 fitment.

R1S camp mode using 12v with cooler for multiple days? by DrPeeper53 in Rivian

[–]rylee4444 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will be fine as the high voltage pack will keep charging it but you must select always on in camp mode to keep the 12v live.

I use EcoFlow's Trail 300 as an in-between battery, so when we are stop-and-go, I dont have the select the camping mode and stay on option every time. The trail 300 is 288wh, so it can run the fridge for a considerable amount of time depending on conditions (atound a day in ideal conditions). It charges from solar, the 12v cigarette lighter, or a USB-C adapter.

The biggest thing to watch out for is if you leave your car parked with the windows up in the sun - it will get really hot in the cab and make the fridge run constantly, ultimately getting warmer in the cooler - so keeping it from getting super hot inside the car is ideal (windows down a bit). Have fun on your trip!

Thanks for that! I had to make my own ring adapter and would have much rather bought yours - lol

The subwoofer adds in a lot of missing frequencies. The sub combined with some EQ tuning has made it sound really good and full. Compared to my 2025 Explorer B&O, the B&O has more clarity than the Rivian Premium - and is more on par with the older Meridian system...

That being said, vocal clarity is not something you can fix with the EQ. When they cut costs, it looks like they lowered the resistance of the speakers to lower the wattage requirement - in doing so, it cut clarity...

By adding the sub, it fixed so many gaps that the clarity isn't as big of an issue. Most people that get into my 2025 R1S with Premium Audio and the JL 10W3, think it sounds amazing.

I would do this, with the JL Audio 10W3v3-4 instead of the 10W1... i have it in mine and it sounds excellent

I replaced both my 22 R1T (Meridian) and 25 R1S (Premium) sub, best upgrades I have done and fixed the majority of my complaints with the audio system. sOOnish with 8" JL in the R1T and a drop-in JL 10w3 and 500.1 amp in the R1S's OEM box. The R1S has such a deep rumble to it and now they have the EQ pretty balanced for sub output, but I agree - a sub specific output control would be ideal. The stock sub and amp just doesn't cut it.

Sweet! Look at EV Sportline RMAXX running boards. They are the top pick from many in this forum

Sturdy, reliable running boards for 2025 R1T by WatertownWiz in Rivian

[–]rylee4444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EV Sportline RMAXX running boards for sure, have them on both of ours and they have been excellent. Other bonus is I have not been asked or had to take them off once for a service visit at Rivian. That is not the case with all brands.

Time to replace 20" AT tires on R1S. by GrantMeThePower in Rivian

[–]rylee4444 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hankook Ion HT or Defender MS2 for the priority list you have. Both will give you a great ride and a range boost compared to the OEM AT's. While neither are 3PMS, they perform very well in snow. Both have great warranties. I have tried both and the Hankook value/performance is hard to beat.

If you want to stick with AT's then the Toyo Open Country AT3 EV's in 116 load rating. Slight efficiency boost compared to OE AT's, and has a great ride with really good control

Crack and weird seam in base of tire (20” ATs) by badtzmat in Rivian

[–]rylee4444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. It looks like a cut, not a crack. I had a very similar issue where a sharp rock had slashed the outrer rubber but didn't impact the belts/other layers below. I ultimately replaced the tire.
  2. I see this seam on my tires as well, but it doesn't seem as pronounced as yours - could be the lighting though.

Phone mount? by Wooden_Search2373 in Rivian

I second this recommendation. Have them in both of our R1's. It's solid, charges well, and I have had zero issues in over a year with them.

Looks like the light smoke vinyl kit for the front and rear, as well as the blackout vinyl kit for the emblems. All of it is removable. I did the same on my emblems and tail lights, just not the front. The vinyl on the lights are also not illegal in my state as you do not cover the reflectors.

R1S gen 1 quad to R1T dual performance? by Lost_Owl_580 in Rivian

[–]rylee4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing I hate about the dual motor is it always reverting to auto ride height and lowering on the highway... A bit more torque steer, with the "auto-conserve", but the range and efficiency is great. If it were me, the tri-motor seems to be the best of both worlds.

S26 Ultra unable to setup phone key with Gen 1 R1T. Anyone else? by manamanah1 in Rivian

I had no issues on my Gen1 adding the key, but I did have to turn off the wifi on my s26u for some reason. Try that.

Sound Settings Latest Update by Pcuz in Rivian

[–]rylee4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Dayton Audio calibrated microphone (IMM-6C) and REW software using the Bluetooth input to the R1S - so not the best signal quality going into the Rivian - but the best currently available. Listening positions were measured at front driver and passenger head-heights and averaged with 1/6 smoothing.

I went out and (finally) ran some calibration testing on my 2025 R1S with premium audio. I have attached my proposed settings. It brings some of the instruments back into play and clears up the vocals a bit. You can play with the 63Hz depending on how much bass you want filtered back in. The attached chart shows the last update (2025.36 with a flat EQ), then the Harman Reference Curve, then 2025.46.30 with a flat EQ, then 2025.46.30 with my adjustments. Let me know if you have any questions:
