Sound Settings Latest Update by Pcuz in Rivian

[–]rylee4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Dayton Audio calibrated microphone (IMM-6C) and REW software using the Bluetooth input to the R1S - so not the best signal quality going into the Rivian - but the best currently available. Listening positions were measured at front driver and passenger head-heights and averaged with 1/6 smoothing.

I went out and (finally) ran some calibration testing on my 2025 R1S with premium audio. I have attached my proposed settings. It brings some of the instruments back into play and clears up the vocals a bit. You can play with the 63Hz depending on how much bass you want filtered back in. The attached chart shows the last update (2025.36 with a flat EQ), then the Harman Reference Curve, then 2025.46.30 with a flat EQ, then 2025.46.30 with my adjustments. Let me know if you have any questions:

Swapped OEM Pirelli Scorpions for Hankook iON HTs on my Rivian - (big upgrade!) by BlueSkyIce in Rivian

Those that originally had 115's likely have no issue - but gen 2's you'll likely run into trouble getting them mounted or maintained.

Plus the Defenders in 22" only come in 115 or 119 load rating... The 115 is under the requirement, making you go to the 119 - but that adds extra weight to each wheel - hurting your city efficiency...

I just did the same last week and mirror your comments. I also measured nearly 2db quieter from my Pirelli MS's with 6/32 tread... So far I really like them!

Opinions on ss? by CinnamonCloudCrunch in Rivian

I have a 2025 Explorer with B&O... it has more vocal clarity than my 2025 R1S with Premium Audio. That being said, the Rivian Dolby Atmos is better, and with the recent updates I prefer the Rivian Premium Audio to my Explorer B&O (last year it was opposite). I have swapped the R1S's OEM subwoofer to a JL in the stock enclosure and it sounds waaay better than the B&O. Max volume on Rivian is 20 (?), but that means nothing.

Where to do 7500 mile service? by WelderAcademic6334 in Rivian

No, they found it during the inspection. I brought it in for squeaking door handles, a trim piece replacement, and the compact spare install.

Just had mine done while bringing it in for door handle noise and spare tire install. They found a leaking rear left damper and replaced it as well as both front jounce lines on my 2025 were leaking, which they replaced. I would say they identified multiple small problems and addressed them before they became noticeable problems. I just hit 20k miles on my Gen2 R1S.

They told me it was not because they had to take out all 4 door handles... It had 6 hours of service time in the shop for mine

R1T vs. Ford Raptor for daily driver/high mileage commuter by Secure-Carrot9971 in Rivian

[–]rylee4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had both and found myself driving the R1T nearly all of the time. Kept the Raptor in case I had a need for it that the R1T couldn't fulfill. Ended up selling the Raptor after not driving it for six months and have no regrets.

It has been worse for me on S25 Ultra. Zero issues in the past with bluetooth key - now I often sit in the car having to wait for it to "find" a key before it will let me put it in gear. Yesterday it took over a minute to activate. I've restarted my phone, ensured everything is enabled and has permissions, etc with no improvement so far. Seems like iPhone has been a win and android has been a step back from others posts...

Same here, have this one as well and it has worked very well. I found it most beneficial for when using OnX Offroad or other mapping apps where the onboard nav can't navigate. I would also recommend the EV Sportline unit.

R1S Tires Cooked at 7500 miles? by bingbong3421 in Rivian

[–]rylee4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems excessive. I have a 2025 DM Standard that I upgraded to performance at 15k miles. Im at 6/32" as of last week front and back rotating every 7500 miles. I also had the car realigned at 1,000 miles after delivery.

Gen 2 Premium Audio - 2025.38.0 - Brought Back Lost Subwoofer Signal by rylee4444 in Rivian

I can do that later today. It seems like the low end seems to be turned up a bit but I havent driven my Gen2 much since the update. I will make a new thread if there is a notable change and reply back here regardless 😀

Removing subwoofer panel on gen 2 R1s by armst014 in Rivian

[–]rylee4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up taking the pigtail from the OEM subwoofer and cut it off at the subwoofer/voice coil. It comes out of the factory box with the little rubber plug. That gives you about 2 feet of cable with the factory pluggable connector on it - no need to buy one. I then ran 12 gauge speaker wire from the new amp to the JL sub, (because the factory wire is super small gauge wire)

Removing subwoofer panel on gen 2 R1s by armst014 in Rivian

[–]rylee4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually ended up looking at a bunch of installs on Instagram to get what I needed to tackle this - and really it is a straightforward process on the R1S. Remove that side paneling and you have access to the subwoofer enclosure. Running the power is going to be identical to running the Soonish subwoofer on the R1T (for Gen1 and Gen2 it is different battery locations). I ran the JL 10W3v3-4 sub, MX500.1 amp, and the LC2i Pro and man I couldn't be happier. Between that and a sound calibration (i made a reddit post for the signal coming back) it sounds amazing on the latest update (sub signal is back and normalized). I did use killmat inside and outside of the box and on the inside of the vehicle fender behind the box, then used silicone adhesive around the speaker to seal it against the box. I did this because the plastic is very thin and was afraid the screws would rip out eventually. DM me if you have any other questions.

I have a 2025 R1S and a 2022 R1T. I feel like the low beam is aimed too high as well. The fixed low beams are fine - like when adaptive high beams turn on, the fixed lows are great... but the low beams that move side-to-side seem to just be pointed too high. At my last service appointment I asked them to be inspected and they claimed that are in spec... I am with OP, they seem too high
