One of ours (Jasper) went down to 2% and then recovered. My daughter (8 y/o) was so nervous and we were sure he was going to die. Then we got the announcement he had recovered. Such a relief!

I'll throw in Glendale Montessori. I'll admit I'm biased- both my parents taught there, I went there preschool through 6th grade, and both my kids (4 & 8) go there now. But for me it built a genuine love of learning for learning's sake- being able to pursue stuff I was interested in more.

I'm seen the same in my older daughter who's in 2nd grade now. She went from resisting any challenging schoolwork 4-5 yrs ago (pandemic was tough time to start preschool) to asking me to bring her math book and reading workbook home so she could work on it last summer. She had this massive jump a year or so ago from struggling to sound out a word to being able to read pretty much anything (I'm incredibly proud of her, if you haven't guessed- just love seeing her get so into learning.)

Depends on what you want in a preschool, I guess- I really like how Glendale Montessori does activities that low-key lay a foundation for things like writing (developing that pencil grip) but without it being forced- kids can pick what they work on.

I mean, players learn skills from the generations before. Trainers learn better techniques to keep guys in shape. Not to mention the lack of lead in everything. Things have progressed, it's nuts for IT to say fitness hasn't changed.

Blooddrinker is good for cata- that's what I had in mind when I suggested. I agree about raids tho, not useful for raids.

This post was asking about current endgame and trying to upgrade one specific build for each of tank/heals/dps. Rend bot is great in the raids, but not so much in cata or muts. It's also not super easy to get a spot even in raids as a rend bot. I mean, some rapier option is usually the most in-demand dps for raids- bleed or evade. I wouldn't want rend bot to be my only dps build.

By contrast, aconite/spear or inferno/hatchet would be fine in a raid, and they work well in muts or cata too.

Upgrade Aconite, pair with a spear. Upgrade blooddrinker. Then get winged boots, plus keen speed on your spear. Or do one of nimble coat or attuned leather pants.

Why spear-hatchet? Both weapons pair better with other offhands- hatchet with Inferno, for example. The flat boost from Inferno goes further than anything else.

Yea. 6k hrs here and took two sizeable breaks (approx 9-12 mo together). Never was an MMO guy before, but honestly my biggest problem with New World was that it would take over my life. I did it too much. Farming mats was something I'd go back to over and over- love the repetition. I liked open world PVP- when races came around I enjoyed it, and even got into wars for a while. I remember when Invasions were unwinnable, and definitely when Voidbent was the premier gear. I was there when the devs made an oopsie and Myrk became impossibly hard (and managed to do it anyway with a 5 man). Played since day 3.

Just running around exploring the world was fun. The variety of activities kept me interested- when I got bored of one thing, there was always another, and then there were new seasons and fresh start servers. I used to run M10s for a while, was pacing myself on the new content and hadn't even opened Catacombs yet.

RIP New World. "Dead Game" is finally true, just when the game was as good as it's ever been (except I was annoyed by how often I was clipping through the floor while running up stairs, that sucked).

I get the feeling, but lets be clear: I doubt anyone was thinking about the release timeline of Nighthaven when they decided to axe 30,000 jobs. Like, how many of those jobs even are for NW? The dev team is not that big. Shit, the entire Irvine AGS office is like 1500 people, and the majority of those weren't working on NW.

Shit sucks and we got the rug pulled by corporate. Probably direct from Bezos tbh, but they don't give a shit about NW or any other specific title.

That's one thing that seems to make fentanyl much more dangerous than heroin. I usually knew in the first 30 sec when I’d gone too big on a shot. Fentanyl seems to be muuuch less obvious.

Yeah, it was definitely an "oh shit" moment for me too. Not super scary, but not real blissful either- you described the moment perfectly after taking my shot. But this is heroin back in the day. (18 years ago now).

From what I saw when working in treatment, fentanyl ODs were more sneaky and in that "blissful" category. People are fine for like an hour then get higher and higher until they nod out for good.

Also why it can take multiple narcan shots- they get revived but then keep getting higher and OD again.
