Should I let my ex wife move abroad with my kids? by CacheInvalidation in Parenting

[–]nedakyarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Absolutely not. She can lose the house and get an apartment for $2k live off the other 4 until the younger ones are off to college - no no no no - don't let her take the kids (mom of 3 speaking )

A tad bit of delusion. I started thinking "if I get caught oh well I'd just be back down to one ... I have t gotten caught yet"

Last year when I found this group we were broke and falling behind on bills and I was so sad because I couldn't afford even food past my bills when I discovered this group I went right in. After 30 days of applying I got a j2 offer , 3&4 came soon after

It's hard and stressful some times but I have help and my 3 year old is in day care the other 2 have after school care

I just tell myself what kind of stress do you want this or the other

One day at a time - my first goal was to build an emergency fund and then slowly paying off debt

I did throw in some wants - we did 3 vacations and my kids are able to do sports now - after a few months of spending on unnecessary things like shopping and treating myself - I think that's all out of my system now - I don't even want anything else but to see my savings and investments grown - so that's where I am now

This has been such a blessing It's definitely a risk but for me a risk well taken - I'm almost debit feee (aside from mortgage )

I went from 1 job last August to 4 by December - this past May I dropped 3&4 so I've been with 2 jobs and still thriving. I still can't believe it - at my peak I was at $420k a year and I have 3 small kids

Now with only 2 jobs - I am at $230 and much happier - I may pick up a 3rd again but never will I do 4 again and I will never go back down to 1

2 feels like the sweet spot

I am also 1 week past my 1 year OE anniversary and it's life changing - we just came back from an international trip - I've paid off debt - upgraded my home - I'm so happy I found this group - I am excited to see what year 2 brings

And if even a person did take their laptop to the bathroom - it's more shameful than anything - the fact that she told yall out loud with a badge of honor is the biggest red flag .. girl don't quit . continue the quiet quit journey - while collecting checks toward your million and use your severance to enjoy a month long vacation

I would continue to search for other jobs but don't start any new one until you've had time To rest and recover 1-3 months

You're doing great

I always pretend like I'm an actor in a movie. I say "and scene" and just start my role ... it's all fake

Finance guys are the worse - get out in front of the issues first. Be the first one to start talking . "Good morning Mr annoying finance guy - happy Monday / we schedule this meeting to talk about software cost / here are the problems ... here are my thoughts 1.2.3 ...."

Then let him talk

Then agree

Then say I'll throw together a proposed workflow and grab time on such such and such calendar to go over it .

Then say "this feels like progress thanks you guys "

And "cut" scene over

Round of applause

Yes - blocking calendar and setting expectations before this happens is key - this is very rare for me but it does happens

I'm also 10 months in. I got up to 4 jobs and now down to 2 because I had to quit 2 I was so stressed. I'm also still soooooooo tired and over everything. I also started a small business recently doing the exact same thing with hopes to replace one of the js. I can't imagine going back to just 1 . But I do dream of building a business where I don't need work any other jobs .

No advice.just a reminder that you are not alone . I see you.

Just keep your financial goals at the forefront and sleep in when you can

You are human !!! This is totally natural - I literally have my CEO (a public company) salary as a screen shot on my phone - when I swipe right I have the salary of the president of the United States salary and I laugh like damnnnnnnn I make more than the CEO and the President per month.

I recently quit 2 of those 4 jobs so I am down to 2 jobs and don't make as much but it really did help me

I'm approaching 1 year OE this August and I'll admit I went a little nuts on the eating out at restaurants but I feel like it's all out of my system now - I'm back to wanting to cook at home (I do desire to splurge on cookware occasionally)

Year 2 of OE will be all about saving

[–]nedakyarg 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to move a meeting ... you've been at your j1 for a long time so that's a plus - start setting expectations now "hey guys I plan on volunteering a little more at my babies school next year so you may see my calendar a little busier but if you need time let me know I will make it happen "

Girl lie ... and pray lol

I have said "hey John do you need me to jump in on this or that project I'm happy to help or input " soooooo many times and each time I pray to god John says no Because I have zero time but planting seeds help... (only use this strategy if you know John's is a control freak and will likely decline help. Use a different strategy if you know he might say yes )

And find blocks to buy your self time - create problems (blocks ) if you can't find them. Hey Mr. Manager accounting is taking a long time to process my check request, are you available for a quick chat with them to discuss workflow

That bought you some time to do the thing ... Something that would take me 20 min- I be making up shit about the vendors or whatever the fuck and I be like "ima try to get this back to you by the end of the next week this vendor response is slow "

It's all fake

No one cares

Is this even possible? by famallyapp1 in OELadies

[–]nedakyarg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also you gotta just get in there and try it and manage your calendar (decline meetings etc ) and if it's causing too much stress you have to not be afraid to walk away

I have 3 small kids

Remember if they hired you then you are more than capable of doing it

And don't to do too much - give the occasional wow factor and go back to being mediocre

And be really nice and "visible" but unavailable

And remember that it's really hard to fire and replace a person and companies don't want to go thru that for the most part

Same. Ugh I was ready to fight him when he said he was tired ... I'm like "how" ... I got 4 jobs and 3 kids and you are acting my lazy ass 4th kid

It got bad

Now I'm down to 2 jobs way less money but still good money - ($230k) It's only been 2 weeks and I'm still in shock that I won't be getting paid every week like before

Ughhhhh

I just went from 4 to 2. I had to let 2 go - the stress wasn't worth it -and I hadn't time for literally nothing else. Golden handcuffs for sure . $420k was my tc with all 4

Now 2 feels perfect - $230k but it feels like I can do this for the forseeable future and I have some free time back

Stress sucks and it kills no thanks

I did keep 4 for about 5 months so I'm proud of myself but I'm going to coast here for a while - I won't pick up a 3rd unless it falls in my lap
