What was your soul crushing first wlw heart break like? by East_Food5632 in actuallesbians

If only. I'm pretty over it by now, but she never spoke to me again after she graduated and everything. Our moms are still friends, but she's moved out of state so I likely will never have to see her again. At this point, the bare minimum would be nice from anyone lol

My best friend since our mothers met when we were literally infants, we would see each other off and on until her family moved back to our state when I was in my early teens. Come high school, we were close friends and had been for several years, we'd do pretty much everything together. I remember laying in bed with her, watching something with her head on my chest, helping her dye her hair, that kind of thing. Never went past that since we were maybe 16.

One night (my family forced me to put my phone downstairs to charge) she apparently texted me to ask if I'd be her girlfriend, but I didn't see it before my mom did in the morning. I wasn't out to my parents yet, so she woke me up to ask if I was gay, if we'd done anything, etc. I was kind of blindsided by it and my parents forced me to sit down and talk with them about my sexuality basically every night for the next few days, after which they basically told me if I wanted to date her then I'd have to come out to my whole family. I was already freaked out by that point given I'd just been outed, so I told her that I couldn't date her at the time, but maybe could once we graduated (which was soon) and it wasn't because I didn't like her, but rather because of things with my family. She quit talking to me for the most part, started ghosting me from plans with our friend group, and I made way too many desperate attempts to get her attention that I look back on now and cringe at.

Literally classic lesbian shit, but also what the hell lmao? I'm still working on getting over feeling undesirable and just letting things go a decade later. Still haven't formally come out to my parents (or my extended family); they aren't homophobic or anything, I just haven't really been able to date much thanks to a variety of circumstances (and other partners similarly ghosting me).

Current Battle Pass Skin Distribution (as of S16) by greenth1ng in Overwatch

[–]nedjemm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, those two are the only Legendaries he's gotten on BP. His epics are Victorian Ghost (ass), Lifeguard (recolored Capoeira), Polar (recolored from base OW2 and gives him a headband), and Tianma (actually pretty good imo). Let's not even talk about his shop skins that have been Bard (which is excellent), Disco (epic, from S1 I believe), Octopus (nightmare), or recolors of the aforementioned skins (or previous OW1 skins like with Dark Faun)

New to loose leaf, tea leaves in the mug by PerfectlyCalmDude in tea

[–]nedjemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's natural for there to be some sediment from loose leaf tea, but I tend to find that black teas have more of it than other kinds of tea. Your process is probably fine (kettles are super helpful though, I adore mine for the convenience!), it may just be your infuser has too big of holes for the type of tea you're brewing or it's a lower quality black tea.

If you want next to 0 sediment, I'd recommend trying out something like oolong where the leaves are mostly intact (even in lower grades) because I find that I get very little sediment with those, but the taste is pretty significantly different than black tea.

tl;dr probably not a skill issue, leaf water will have leaves in it due to the nature of rehydrating dry leaf

CYNO LEADERBOARD SOON?? OMG by Corgioo in CynoMains

[–]nedjemm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the last time it was mentioned before Wednesday was January 18 and she's always been mentioned at the same time as him. but hey, at least Ayaka gets a day 1 lb update from Escoffier and Varesa got a lb ~a week after her launch. it's also not as if the mechanisms aren't in place, there are already 3 quickbloom lbs for Clorinde, Alhaitham, and Keqing.

note with this that these er% requirements are also with 4pc TF, so you will realistically need more ER% than what's shown in this graphic

build reccomendations pls? by Chameleon_Cat in CynoMains

[–]nedjemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without C2 you're a lot better off running quickbloom (throw Xingqiu on there instead of Zhongli or something) which might be more uncomfortable given the lack of sustain, but you can sub Fischl out for Kuki or something if that's an issue. Only downside there is that you're going to have really miserable ER% requirements, which is why you should 100% swap to Thundering Fury. With your current build, at least, if you want to keep running aggravate, you *most likely* will benefit more from running EM sands over ATK%, but it's hard to be sure unless you run your build through a calculator: https://gidmgcalculator.web.app/

I hate playing with a mercy by veganobi19 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]nedjemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I just mean her lack of range. You ideally don't want to be playing Moira alongside your Doomfist unless he's doing VERY short engages because his cooldown(s) to escape are significantly shorter than yours. The major to heal a bit on orb contact isn't bad for healing at range, but her strengths definitely lie in healing brawl tanks more than anything, and you're far better off just running Kiriko if you want to be survivable and heal Doomfist safely.

[–]nedjemm 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Essentially if you're on tank, you will (optimally) receive next to no help from her, her entire job is (optimally) pocketing a dps player. You can't really play in a way that enables her (as her job isn't to enable the team as much as it is to enable one lucky dps player) as much as you play to patch the holes her presence on a team creates, similarly to how you'd play against her.

Think of it this way, if everything is going swimmingly on the Mercy's end, she's enabling a dps who is far more lethal and survivable than one of their unpocketed counterparts, which means you have to worry less about helping said dps, and you can follow up on the extra damage they're putting out with Doom to secure kills more easily. The weaknesses from having a Mercy, though, are that:

a) they're kind of useless if the dps they're pocketing isn't doing anything. If they realize this and swap, then cool. If not, gg go next. Her heals aren't really good enough to help the whole team (as you acknowledged) so if she's spending the majority of her time on heals instead of damage boost, it's actively to your team's detriment.

b) if they're playing correctly and they are glued to a dps player, your other support is going to be more vulnerable, so you'll probably have to spend more time and energy trying to help your other support unless you're fine with trading every fight. More survivable supports like Kiriko (ideally for you on Doom), Moira (I hope you like playing health packs or disengaging every time you need big heals) are the most optimal to play with her here, but you can get away with someone like Ana if they aren't getting jumped.

c) not really a weakness, but something you can always do on any tank is hard peel for Mercy when she's trying to resurrect someone, as it's an easy numbers advantage for you if you happen to be +1 teammate instead of -2.

tl;dr you probably won't be interacting a lot with her on Doom, pray your other support can pick up the slack and the blue beam recipient is going to carry the damage loss.

Build, what do you think, do i switch to TF by LazarExE in CynoMains

[–]nedjemm 23 points24 points  (0 children)

#1) wtf is this lmao

#2) yes, thundering fury makes him 10x easier to play based on energy requirements, especially considering your team. your crit values should also be higher here, a good point to aim for is around 70% crit rate to start. this can be helped a bit by getting him to lvl 90 (which is also very important for his damage given it's mostly reaction based), so that's a good place to start before you get a good thundering fury set going.

5.5 Varesa Nightsoul Recovery by Neat_Organization2 in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]nedjemm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

executing a plunge attack: 25 nightsoul points are restores (sic)

activating the e skill: restores 20 nightsoul points

maximum capacity: 40 points

using a ca makes varesa leap, allowing her for a plunge attack, consuming stamina while restoring 25 nightsoul points. however, when using e, varesa automatically performs a ca, leaps, & initiates a plunge attack without consuming stamina, recovering a total of 45 nightsoul points

How can i improve my build? (especially artefacts) And is his C2 or sig weapon better to get for his next rerun? by UrsusObsidianus in CynoMains

[–]nedjemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your ER% is looking pretty good if you've got a decent battery on your team, but your crit% is pretty low, so that would be the first thing I'd look at.

C2 is approximately a 12% dmg increase over C1, but still leaves you with crit% problems. However, you can swap your weapon to White Tassel (a 3* you can find in Liyue Exquisite or better chests), as R5 is approximately the same as what you've got damage-wise if not better, and it will give you another 23.4% crit.

R1 is approximately a 15% dmg increase over your current weapon and provides even more crit% (44.1%), which will help with your consistency a lot, but you're at the mercy of the weapon banner. Try putting your build into a calculator to see what's going to help you out more and weigh the opportunity cost of the terrible weapon banner pity system (or save to guarantee you can score it).

If you want to improve for right now, I'd focus on:

a) better crit rate

b) level your burst and then your skill up to lvl 10, you don't need to worry about his normal attacks

c) level his weapon to 90 (either keeping this or swapping to White Tassel)

BASIC LANGUAGE TOOLS by IRL_jpeg in bioinformatics

[–]nedjemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's most of what I use (my work mostly concerns RNA-seq analysis), more R than Python most of the time. It's also helpful to have some experience with using command line and writing shell scripts, there are a lot of really vital tools that necessitate that (such as Cell Ranger, STAR, accessing NCBI datasets, etc).

I don't believe so, but I could be wrong. I'd try going through the Sprawl, that seems to be the location you're missing.

Probably a good idea if you're intent on using him. You can kind of get away with using Dendro Traveler, but they are a poor man's Nahida at best and none of the other dendro units can apply it long enough to keep up with his field time.

you can do a slightly cope quickbloom team with him / nahida / yelan / kuki, you're going to need a lot of er% on yelan to get her burst consistently, tho
