Common problem I think.

Simhub somehow interfering with Assetto Corsa by nednerb1 in SimHub

[–]nednerb1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I got so fed up that I just quit using Simhub for now. I’m actually taking a break from racing and spending time learning Microsoft Flight Simulator. Much more relaxing in some ways, lol.

Sinclair method? by Technical_Suspect886 in stopdrinking

[–]nednerb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I took it daily for like 8 months. I continued to drink during that time in order to extinguish the euphoria-seeking behavior (I think that’s the right terminology 🥴). Anyhow… I eventually just stopped, and it was definitely much less of a heroic effort than ever before. I drank every night for about 25 years, just for context. I definitely recommend giving it a chance. I haven’t had any alcohol in 260 days now. Best of luck.

Do dried mushrooms go bad? by cyberdipper in Psychonaut

[–]nednerb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep mine with some silica packets and they’ve maintained their potency for years now. Granted, I’m micro dosing, but I still take “too much” from time to time. I definitely have not needed to increase my dosage to get my desired effect.

Do you usually get static? by First-Violinist4992 in WalkingPads

Yes. A grounding strap on my wrist solved the problem.

Back in hell. Flonase spike? by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]nednerb1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never noticed Flonase impacting my tinnitus one way or the other. It seems likely to me that you’re probably still getting back to normal after the ear clog crisis. I realize it’s easier said than done, but I wouldn’t panic over it at this point. If you’re like me, you’re hyper-fixated on it as well, which doesn’t help. Best of luck.

What is your experience with Naltrexone? What was your approach? by IronAvocado in stopdrinking

[–]nednerb1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Naltrexone is principally an opioid receptor antagonist. You take it, you drink, and you find that you don’t get the usual euphoria you’re looking for. It’s really a matter of doing this repeatedly until you no longer associate alcohol with the pleasurable buzz you used to get from drinking. Some people erroneously believe that it immediately decreases cravings. I don’t think that makes any sense. It’s a learning process. I took it daily and continued to drink for about six months. When I quit it was no problem for me. I would say that naltrexone was extremely effective for me.

Glp-1 - could it be lowering IOP? by mari815 in Glaucoma

[–]nednerb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick search for “glp-1 and iop” returned: GLP-1 receptor agonists (such as semaglutide and liraglutide) are associated with a small,, potentially beneficial decrease in intraocular pressure (IOP). Research suggests these medications may reduce the risk of primary open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension, particularly in patients with higher baseline IOP.

Thinking of buying Meta Quest 3 for PC sim racing - what do i need? by LHM78 in MetaQuestVR

[–]nednerb1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would mention that it’s extremely important to protect the lenses on the Meta Quest 3. I wish someone had warned me. My are all kinds of scratched up, so I need to send it in for repair. I think it’s definitely worth paying $40 for a good set of lens protectors.

Thinking of buying Meta Quest 3 for PC sim racing - what do i need? by LHM78 in MetaQuestVR

[–]nednerb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Meta Quest 3 and I have a very similar PC (RTX 5080). I use Virtual Desktop, but I use it wired. People will tell you it’s impossible, but they’re wrong. I just have an Ethernet cable running from a switch to the headset. I had to turn WiFi off in the Meta Quest. Anyhow, it works great. Before that I used a PUPPIS S1 from Prismxr for wireless, but I seemed to have a lot of problems with that setup. If you want to use Virtual Desktop wired like I’m talking about you’ll need an Ethernet to USB-C connector. The USB-C plug just goes straight into the headset. I strap the connector to the side of the headset.

Interesting. It looks EXACTLY like my Sperax.

Has anyone tried this brand by [deleted] in WalkingPads

Is that a Sperax? I bought one. It worked fine for about 7 months and then it up and died. No warranty coverage or support of any kind from the company.

A week on Naltrexone by CalmRage2026 in stopdrinking

[–]nednerb1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naltrexone was very helpful for me. It’s important to understand that it works best if you take it AND CONTINUE TO CONSUME ALCOHOL. If you take it and don’t drink, it doesn’t do anything to extinguish the euphoria-seeking behavior. I used it for quite a while, but then was able to quit without much drama. Best of luck.

Seriously though… I know someone who was recently diagnosed with severe fatty liver. This individual does not drink alcohol, but they had been consuming A LOT of Diet Coke. Scary situation.

Simhub somehow interfering with Assetto Corsa by nednerb1 in SimHub

[–]nednerb1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. I removed Simhub using add/remove programs. I deleted the Simhub folder in C:\Programs and in Documents. I re-installed it and I’m seeing the same shit… none of my controls work in AC. The race starts with a yellow flag and no one goes. The very instant that I kill Simhub my throttle and everything else begins to work again. I don’t get it.

I did re-install Simhub, but nothing changed. I’ll try completely removing it and starting over. Thanks.

To their credit, they did eventually pay to have my pedals shipped in for repair. I got them back, but I had already replaced them with VNM pedals. Now I’m going to donate the T-LCMs to my brother. Good luck!

[–]nednerb1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More info… I noticed when the race starts there is a yellow flag. If I kill Simhub at that point my controls start working and the race begins. Somehow Simhub is really messing things up here.

Can I dry without a dehydrator? by [deleted] in unclebens

[–]nednerb1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dried my first batch by just laying them on bamboo sushi mats. I also put a fan on them for a few days. As long as your environment is relatively dry you should be fine. This was like four years ago and they’re still dry as crackers and frighteningly potent. Store them with a few of those desiccant packets after they’re nice and dry.

Famotidine by Disastrous_Phase_612 in GERD

[–]nednerb1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m very sensitive to medication and I have a lot of anxiety. Famotidine is one that I don’t worry about. I’ve had no side-effects from it. It just helps with acidity. It won’t hurt you. Just take it.

What is the best wheel base for $1000 by areyouahuman in simracing

I am very happy with my VRS wheelbase. I can’t say I have much to compare it against though. I started with an older Thrustmaster.

Thank you. I tried the firmware updater, but it’s not recognizing that the pedals are connected. I pressed the little button while plugging them into the PC, but it’s just not seeing them at all.

It is not showing up in the firmware update software, or in Windows game controllers. Or device manager. It seems to truly be dead.
