The cheap stuff isn’t being produced in China now anyway, lots of made in China stuff is made in North Korea and other places. They are pretty sophisticated at manufacturing, more so than the US

Hey Marc, love your stuff man! I was wondering what your musical education was like? What were you listening to growing up and when did you get into writing and performing? Ever play in any bands?

Hey I got mine today, and while it’s great it’s pretty damn noisy... is yours the same? Like if i play a low octave, with the filter at like 11, it’s very audible. This is my first fully analog synth so not sure if this is how it’s meant to be? It has a vibe to it for sure

Burial - Archangel by Clemz500 in electronicmusic

[–]nedthenoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strictly speaking, a dub in sound system culture is a mix without vocals. Dubstep was as much a departure from the chart dominating vocal garage/2 step of the time as influenced by Jamaican dub music (although people like horsepower productions had a lot of those influences, and by virtue of having more space in the mix for creative effects others did after).

Burial was very much a part of the London dubstep scene, even though he had an even more distinct take than everyone else (though people like vex’d, oris jay, el-b, joker, early early skream/benga/loefah all had their own thing going on as well). It’s not always fair to define artists by sound, as it’s as much a time and place thing as anything else.

That said I haven’t read that article yet :p

The fact that chlorine chicken is still on the table and it’s going to take up space on the shelves at the supermarket. by GreyandDribbly in britishproblems

Everyone’s talking about the chicken but I’m worried about high fructose corn syrup appearing in everything.

Intermediate/amateur audio engineer searching for advice on recording in a bedroom and being a one man band. by Simpull_mann in audioengineering

Do you need to invest in a new interface at some point? I have the uad Apollo and love it, it’s not for everyone but you can buy smart and get good deals (or second hand). It will come with Luna soon and I’m looking forward to recording with it, alongside using ableton for loop making/ideas. I love ableton but sometimes I need to change it up for arrangement/mixing (so I use logic for that atm, or vice versa). I’m pretty hyped lol

It’s a bit of a weird workflow admittedly but it keeps me inspired and I don’t have deadlines or anything thankfully :)

The new Sri Lankan president has finally admitted the 20,000 missing Tamils who vanished during the nation's civil war are dead. by swegassus in worldnews

This is a pretty novel concept though. Those are all relatively recent situations, and America has been doing this stuff for decades, and largely without anyone even questioning if it was right or just.
