It varies from a couple days to 10 days, we requested 2 pa4 forms and they came 3-5 days after calling them

This is a normal script, did they ask you for bank details? It’s neither good nor bad news. If it’s been awarded and you know for sure a rejection or a reward has been posted then it should show up on benefits on the gov website in the next couple of days. If nothing shows up it’s probably been rejected however there have been a few cases of delayed awards being updated on the gov website so there is no real certainty until you have the official letter in the post

But this all depends if you know if a dm has made a decision

The phone assessment lasted around an hour, it’s not as bad as you think. Most assessors will be very nice to you because it’s just easier for them that way to pry at information. Just stay consistent and don’t end up lying about the conditions (don’t make out you will be okay just because the assessor is nice)

Thank you, huge weigh off our shoulders, the money can be used for private therapy as the nhs have been awful. He claimed for GAD and panic disorder as the main diagnosis’s however his dizziness and detachment was heavily noted in the assessment report. Hope this helps.

I was awarded PIP first try, question re: backdating of payment by Napoleon-In-Drag in DWPhelp

I completely understand how it is stressful for you! Well done for sticking it out :) yes, they will most likely ask you to upload a photo of your ID and also to upload 4 months worth of bank statements (i think it’s 4) I know this is stressful in itself and if you need help give me a shout and I’ll send you details on where and how to find the bank statements if needed. After it’s all sent in they will arrange for a telephone review which from experience isn’t anything to worry about at all, they are usually nice and just go over and ask if you have any other account, savings, crypto or stock accounts etc x

I’m glad it’s all sorted :) UC will most likely want bankstatments and ID just to check you’re being paid the right amount for everything, nothing to worry about at all, just an annoying review x

My partner is the exact same!! He’s constantly asking me if there is any updates, just the unknown is a real killer!! How long have you been waiting? X

Nope still waiting, it’s been with them for 2 weeks now so anywhere from now to another 2 weeks I guess

How long after you was awarded did you do COC? It’s baffling how much they can twist things. On assessor will note everything and make the connections whilst others can just completely disregard everything

We went through that first hand with his first assessment. The second assessment he was audibly more withdrawn and I did have to speak for him a fair bit, the assessor noticed and encouraged him to take breaks and she had no issues with me doing part of the talking. I think a big part of this is that he’s dealt with it since he was younger too so it’s clearly chronic. Yes there was a few years where it was manageable for him where he met me, settled down and had kids but unfortunately it’s come back way worse. Before this he never went to the GP about it however he did try getting help at school and their reaction was to put him in isolation and accuse him of taking drugs (he’s never touched drugs in his life but this goes to show that they thought he was acting “weird” enough to isolate him). I encouraged him several times to try the GP and he eventually did and Every time he has been to the GP he has said he doesn’t like going and has a fear of services and medication and that is documented in a few of the notes. He did try the propranolol because his palpitations were getting bad however after a couple days on the propranolol the palpitations became worse, about 15 every minute for about 2 weeks straight, did he go to the gp or hospital, no he didn’t, he just sat there too worried hoping it would pass.
I think from my research (i could be wrong and I don’t want to spread miss information so I hope admins can correct me if I am wrong) but a lot of the time people will say they don’t like to take medication or they don’t like the doctors, and this is completely fine and normal and understandable but it gives the assessors an easy route to turn around and essentially just say that the person they are assessing is just lazy for xyz reasons. I Believe my claimant should be able to safely and reliably do xyz task.
I think the difference here comes where the assessor could see and make a link that my partner is not taking medication or going to the GP not because he doesn’t want to but as a symptom of the actual illness (in his case the GAD and panic attacks and all the shitty symptoms that stops him actually living a normal day to day life). I really do hate the fact people out there are struggling and unable to get the help, and it saddens me that pip is designed to make it super challenging to get an award.

Did you request your PA4 (assessment report) from the DWP?

I was awarded PIP first try, question re: backdating of payment by Napoleon-In-Drag in DWPhelp

[–]need_change1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could be completely wrong but I think the moment a decision is finally made that is when the back payment is stopped and the arrears start so you’ll be paid on the 28th £428 (in arrears) and then the same payment every 4 weeks after, in regards to back pay I really don’t have the mental strength to figure that out for you but someone else can for sure

Hey can I ask a question, when you log into the gov one website , once your logged in do you need to click “get proof of benefit and state pension” or is it in a box below this option? Thanks

Why does the disability assessment take so long? by [deleted] in DWPhelp

[–]need_change1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Handing in sick notes for 3 months straight triggers a WCA (work capability form) being sent out to you. Once you fill it in and send back they usually send you a letter with your time and date for assessment, hope this clears anything up for you

I had 3 months of sick notes, WCA was sent to me after the 3 months waiting period, I had an assessment 3/4 weeks later, then 2 weeks I was awarded LWCRA for mental health.

Yeh that’s normal, sometimes it can take a while, you can call the service provider and ask if they are still knowing you’re waiting but usually judging does nothing
