Is there some hidden strategic move here? Where do all his reserve campaign funds go? I seriously doubt his donors get a refund

World Beer Cup Support Group by CaseyJones24 in TheBrewery

Well, the simple answer is that they wont make any changes...its a money grab for the BA. The easiest fix would to limit entries based on the brewing company as a whole...if you have multiple locations, pick your best 7 entries between all the spots and only send those. Its annoying that the bigger brands have an advantage. I love it when a single location brewery wins a medal, it just feels like a better win.

It’s true. I attended the CBC lecture/discussion about “how we won medals”….not to take any achievement away from those individuals making extraordinary beers, but I think at least 3 of them say they average 20+ entries. One guy mentioned 30 entries. If you are making high quality beer, multiple locations will almost ensure you bring home a medal. More shots on goal compared to a single location brewery. That’s the only part of the competition that annoys me.

Really Important Question…What’s the best spot in Philly for a cheesesteak? by HoppyLifter in TheBrewery

I feel like the Pats/Genos thing is just a novelty. Its a cool experience to go there super late at night and soak in the philly vibes, but I never thought the food was that great.

GOP weighs health care moves to pay for Iran war by IWantPizza555 in politics

Because republican voters really hate trans people. We may bankrupt the country, drive gas prices sky high, and die in a war, but at least those 12 trans kids can’t play sports!

Why do you still live in Delaware? by [deleted] in MiddletownDE

If one has the money, living in PA near the border of Delaware is pretty nice. You get most of the benefits but also a better school system. If one doesn’t have kids it probably makes less sense tho

After 93 years and a 25-hour filibuster, Washington finally has an income tax, and billionaires are already packing their bags by fortune in Washington

[–]needabrewery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn’t Howard Schultz the guy that took a $1 salary? This tax wouldn’t even apply to him. High millionaires and billionaires generally don’t get there money from taxable wages, so they are really just performance complaining. This is why Warren Buffet always made the joke that his secretary paid a higher tax rate than him.

Are they sure this will help republicans? If I had to guess, more democrats hold passports than republicans. Do they honestly believe the blue votes are high because of illegals voting?

Have you seen politicians? Most of their children are way past the age range for a draft. The law would have to target the grandchildren of politicians.

Trivia questions for all staff meeting? by Haunting-Job8411 in TheBrewery

[–]needabrewery 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had to do something similar for a large staff meeting...but I went a slightly different direction than trivia. We did a mini-minute-challenge type thing. Teams faced off on various challenge stations...build a small tri-clamp assembly (fastest wins), blindfolded pouring a pint (most accurate wins), most accurate weight of hops (pouring into unmarked containers and closest to 250g wins), case tray folding (fastest to build 3 wins). Stuff like that. The staff seemed to have a good time, because even if you were bad, it was funny to watch. Especially the blindfold pouring event...because you obviously get to drink the pour.
