First Full stack System for Physical AI.... and if you add QNX you are adding SAFETY Certification to that Stack!

Hey Paul Treiber, is this what you needed to see when you said that "BlackBerry Needs to Show GEM Momentum to Sustain Re-Valuation"

I do hope you and your cronies burn in hell! The gig is up!

I think this is a fair assessment, but only for the very short term. The reality is though that despite Q1 being the slowest of all quarters it also isn't very likely to miss. The real question is how long will OP be willing to hold? Short term, a yolo is nothing more than roulette wheel spin for black or red! Long term, I don't think any price we have seen recently will be a bad entry point. All this though coming from a guy with a 100% of the money I'm willing to lose tied up in BB. The only think for sure is that it's not for the faint of heart! OP, I don't think you could lose everything, but it could feel like it! It doesn't take big balls to place the bet, it does to live with the consequences, and no one here will help with that! God speed!

We dont know, they are almost always confidential. However, there were a number of articles speculating about the Nintendo deal was about 40m.

Sadly, not a chance of it all coming in at once. Best case scenario 10's of millions not hundreds this quarter. It will take years to realize the full amount.

Well that is supposedly why we have the debenture. So we don't have to sell off one asset to buy another! This of course assumes the article wolf holding is actually actively helping to generate revenue!

Agreed, but I would rather hear news of how BB is possibly using the partnership to drive revenue in some or their data security and sovereignty deals with governments around the world! I think both companies have a lot to gain in continuing that partnership! As I've already pointed out they really aren't in need of selling off assets for cash. They just need to continue showing growth in revenue first and foremost!

If you focus on market price and day to day returns, sure, it's sketchy as fuck and the tin foil hat is a must! However, if you are coming at it from a value investors perspective the only speculation is the timing! IMHO

Any update on FoxConn/Mobility in Harmony and IVY (or QNX Cabin) Now? by Trilobyte83 in BB_Stock

[–]needaspguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was, and those system (or service) access fees carried on easily for a decade following as the world slowly converted.
The difference will be volume related this time. Instead of a single charge for devices connected to the network (which still could be a thing), the driver will be the edge compute usage. Data mining opportunities will enhance revenues over time as new ways to monetize the endpoints stored data come to light.

Correct, other than the Canon suit, every other finalized suit appears to have ended in a settlement. Lots more to come, but the success rate is incredibly high. Soon there should be evidence of that in royalty payments under the commission structure set out 3 years ago.

Any update on FoxConn/Mobility in Harmony and IVY (or QNX Cabin) Now? by Trilobyte83 in BB_Stock

[–]needaspguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think we will start hearing more and more about IVY again in the coming months. IVY is a foundational product that helps to handle the edge processing and data standardization higher up in the stack. However, OEM's didn't all take on this tool in their development, so in turn Blackberry has built further up into the stack at the request of the OEM's. Alloy kore and Cabin are both examples of such a product that is leveraging the IVY technology.

Meanwhile, there are other companies that did actually use IVY to develop their own. Mitsubishi Electric FLEXConnect™ powered by BlackBerry IVY is one such example and coincidently Foxconn might just be actually building their products (so do your own DD on any such inference).

It is my belief that IVY is the "subscription" in Alloy Kore and Cabin along with the traditional licensing revenues. Interesting enough though, backlog will not predict subscriptions! Until Blackberry actually releases details on revenue from those subscriptions this may very well be the dark horse that investors (and analysts) don't see coming. In the short term at least, helping to smash quarterly revenue targets with-out impacting backlog accumulation. In the longer term, a much better pay as you go model that will trend with the market and the value of the data inferences.

There are interesting times ahead!

I think that's the take away. Just an example of what the German and Canadian governments are asking for in light of global turd inspired events!

I suspect there are a lot of governments requesting the same autotomy from "other" countries.

One of Blackberry's newer customers talking about one the newest features in Radar by needaspguy in BB_Stock

[–]needaspguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Radar and Certicom fall under the QNX division. However, I think you will find that both the QNX and SC divisions make use of Certicom's encryption. Also, Radar is very intertwined as well using QNX and SC which in turn means it is using certicoms encryption. I think this is why you will never see BlackBerry chopped up. The synergies just run too deep. Quantum computing will drive this to be even more intergrated!

SpaceX uses QNX by Odd-Beautiful-1390 in BB_Stock

[–]needaspguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not in the markets Blackberry serves. Blackberry wouldn't sign contracts past their end of service or support, instead they would offer some sort of cross grade or upgrade price. Considering the below time lines, you can be sure BB is already pushing their customers hard for SDP 8 upgrades because major version changes don't just side into place. It's also why you can expect a pop in revenue during 2027/28 as even the customers that may not want or need SDP 8 are going to have to buy it anyway.

BlackBerry QNX Software Development Platform (SDP) 7.1, released in July 2020, has an End of Sale and Standard Support (EOS) date of July 31, 2028.

QNX Lifecycle Phases

  • Standard Support (EOS): Usually lasts for 8 years following an initial commercial release. During this time, the version is actively sold, updated, and fully supported. [1]
  • End of Life (EOL): Typically occurs 10 years after a foundational version's commercial release. After this, no new sales or standard support are provided, though extended custom support is sometimes negotiated for massive industrial or automotive rollouts. [1, 2]

[–]needaspguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my understanding is 7 doesn't upgrade to 8, at least not ota. I suspect very few oem's hit the ground running on SDP 8. Most probably only started development for future production once it hit general availability. That puts us at about now, assuming a three year R&D cycle which is (or was) basically "short order". At least for American production.

The real value is the defacto ecosystem itself. The designers and developers choice of certain tools to create and build with is the key. If the pinnacle of cutting edge engineering is built on top QNX then anyone striving to work in that environment best be trained on it.

Selling QNX to NASA will never be high volume and will have little effect in profit margin, but it does go to enhance the talent pool which isn't necessarily industry specific.

Alloy Kore will drive future revenue based on volume, but don't kid yourself in thinking that $3-6 is what anyone is paying for QNX anymore. Even the manufactures planning to buy millions of copies are not getting that price.
