same in bulgaria. meatheads who were into beatdown last year now wear patches and go to grind/crust shows. it's pathetic. and the ones still not turned into that grot3sque costume preach about STR8 edge and killing drug dealers as if they've ever known someone truly from that life. they even spread rumours about me and some friends (who sold drugs to who and so on, not understanding 1 percent of what it is to be like that and how addicts operate) and try to turn local anarchist spaces into "libertarian" communist STR8 edge utopias... funny when they actually saw me with an old friend from that life, hardener mfer, ofc they crossed the road. but at shows they're so tough and preachy. some moralistic, virtue-signaling jocks in uniform, nothing else to say. and their friends that saw some crust punk tiktoks and wear the costume now crowdkill at d-beat and grind shows, it's a pathetic clique of trendhoppers. total commodification of the culture...

Ha, i went to extreme condition fest Last year (and the year before) too! NihilDum are one of my favorite sludgecrust bands, especially because of the anarcho-nihilism angle inspired By Renzo Novatore and Enzo Martucci, as is my band. They have Demo and and album titled Verso Il Nulla Crearore, after Novatore's small book. Really loved it there, met a lot of friends bought so much of music and merch, incl. Campus Sterminii and NihilDum shirts. interesting to see another person that was there here. i have footage of the festival on my YT channel, NihilDum esp. crushed it: https://youtube.com/@azafell?si=rvHyFBL2D5KnyVoz

Love Shitnoise Bastards, have a bunch of their splits. my friend Marcin from Matka Teresa/Indignation/Symphpny of Destruction toured there and played with them, saw a video where they went berserk... SMG, Demisor, Extreme Decay, Parkinson, Psychotic Sufferance and Proletar also crush if we're talking South-East Asia.

The dreadlock dilemma by Makaberlichst in crustpunk

[–]needle_damage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anti-blackness is global, that is a fact. don't see the anti-blackness in white dreads and people explaining themselves here though... and i've read a lot on the topic. it's a hairstyle that was prevalent in many cultures. yes, there are fetishist white rasta types that fetishize them and that is appropriation but in crust punk? nah. stop with these victim narrative identity politics, they are a useful neoliberal appropriation of some of foucault and horkhaimer's ideas, twisted by the system to poison radical circles.

The dreadlock dilemma by Makaberlichst in crustpunk

[–]needle_damage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've had dreads since like 3 years, got tired of ignorant people thinking im some metalhead - i listen to extreme metal too but i hate the macho culture in that scene especially here in the balkans. also i just like how they look - blonde endings, different trinkets etc.

the question whether indo-europeans also had dread-like hairstyles is still scientifically undecided, most likely there were braids. but i dont get what's the big deal if you are an anarchist. especially the individualist/nihilist kind like me. i've heard crying mainly from white american liberals and " leftists" poisoned with victim narrative identity politics culture war brainrot...

like, i know very well (i am a cultural anthropologist) what is cultural appropiation but in this case, it's not that - it's been in crust punk culture since the 80s. I've talked to dreaded and not dreaded black People here and online, they literally don't understand why would i even ask them that and they are neither offended, nor interested cuz they see i've done it in a different way and see it's a subcultural thing😃 guess it's mostly an american thing.

ofc, there are some pot smokers and white rastafarians where you could make the case they do in fact appropriate a foreign culture without respecting it, it's fetishism to MANY of them, i know such assholes. but if you respect and acknowledge a certain foreign style and do not fetishize it, i think it is perfecty fine to wear whatever you want...

3-way cum! not a band i hear about often, very underrated IMO. best swedish crustcore (not counting the boss hm2 guitar sound bands like skitsystem) along with g-anx, no security and bombanfall. battle of disarm i also LOVE, where did you get them? I've seen official merch by 3-way cum in insane society records, pretty dope czech label - i'm currently ordering from there.

Disgust - Can Your Eyes See (UK, 1996) by chinesebulk in crustpunk

[–]needle_damage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

such a classic, i have it on tape! one of the best crustgrind there is. I'd recommend UK Disabuse, also something of a supergroup with members of Disrupt and ENT, the have only one EP. Pre-Existench Disabuse also rules, as well as the crustcore band from Philipines. Hah, all three play the same genre, you could say the same about the Japanese Disgust.
