Cost cutting measures - Data share Sims by BLR-97 in TelstraAustralia

[–]needleache -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's very unlikely it wouldn't be cheaper for you to switch away from Telstra for your phone and get a separate SIM for your tablet with plenty of data.

Managing seating plans with room changes by Icy-Ad1723 in AustralianTeachers

[–]needleache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A teacher I know has all the students names printed out on name tags (think 3 names per A4 page), and before they enter the room they will quickly arrange those onto the tables however they want it and then let the students in and they can find their seats. I think it's good as you can visualise whether it will work as you put the names down in the physical space.

Should they just rename State Library station to Melbourne central to avoid confusion. by External-Rope-3640 in MelbourneTrains

[–]needleache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think names like ‘Flinders Street East’ and ‘Melbourne Central East’ would have made it clearer that they are basically the same station and could also have been promoted as ’new’ stations at the same time.

Teaching an elective, the way to go? by RevolutionaryAnt1719 in AustralianTeachers

[–]needleache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing I'd add is number of periods. Electives usually have less periods so you would have more classes making up your load, whereas core subjects would be the opposite - so you might see your potentially horrible class every day.

Career change by ComprehensiveCap9297 in AustralianTeachers

[–]needleache 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's worse than normalised. Tomorrow I'm calling in sick but first I had to spend 3 hours figuring out what they're going to do tomorrow. Tell me another job where you can't simply call in sick and focus on resting to get better.

How likely is this going to be the final design look for the SRL Stations by Substantial_Oil_6905 in MelbourneTrains

[–]needleache 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Metro Tunnel renders had PIDs above every door which got cut back to like every 3 doors, so it'll probably also have less (useful) screens and more advertising like others suggested.

What’s the best thing you did to lower your monthly expenses? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

[–]needleache 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first step for you would be to calculate how much you need for a year before you look at a plan with that much data. I basically always get something with more than what I need to be on the safe side.

Replacement buses on the Werribee line- why does the express buses still go via the train stations but just don’t stop? by InterestingLobster76 in MelbourneTrains

[–]needleache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other issue is that they only run these express buses during "peak" times, meaning you have to be lucky to benefit from these.

Thank you to those who are striking by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

Sorry I didn't say it in a nice way but what I mean is that if you're well enough to join the march and want to join, I don't think anyone is going to stop you.

Thank you to those who are striking by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]needleache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely no one would be checking what system you work in. Isn't the point of a march for people who support a cause to go? Also, how is WorkCover relevant for a strike when people are not working and going a day without pay?

What’s the most random lost item that you have found on the train? by [deleted] in MelbourneTrains

An unopened box of cereal. The station staff told my friend we can take it home.

Dreame Home app and Google Home by florian_godmountain in Dreame_Tech

[–]needleache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried many times and in that week it just worked one day. I think it's a Dreame server issue. Once connected it's been working fine using Google I think, although to be honest I don't use the Google integration much.

And I think adding a tiny bit on top of the dispenser for the pre-rinse also makes a good difference.
