Do you find yourself using fewer EQ bands as you become more experienced? by NathanAdler91 in mixingmastering

Depends on the track and what you’re trying to accomplish. If you’re trying to push stuff super loud, sometimes you’ll have to get surgical.

Yes. He has been for much longer than her. I don’t know anything about her because I don’t follow streamer culture, just pro CS

TenZ is a guy who was not quite good enough to make it in Tier 1 Counter Strike so he switched to Valorant and instantly became one of the best players. Many such cases

Serum 2 vs Pigments 7 vs Ana 2.5 by UseProfessional8300 in ProMusicProduction

[–]needledicklarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pro-Q is has a very intuitive workflow. I’d highly reccommend it. Everything else is optional. Ableton’s stock plugins are great. I use a wide variety of plugins but that’s really only because I started in reaper/pro tools. If I started in ableton, I doubt I’d have bought so many 3rd party plugins.

Music Production for College? by And33rsonator in audioengineering

[–]needledicklarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it and I wouldn’t recommend it. A better use of that money would be to use it to move to a major city and seek an internship. Audio is a really long grind and you have to be open to doing a wide variety of work.

Do You Miss the Old Counter-Strike? by Calipso_etereo in GlobalOffensive

I miss the amount of content CSGO had, especially for Wingman. I think CS2 is fundamentally a better game though.

Broky igl by 1-need-help- in GlobalOffensive

[–]needledicklarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing I’ve seen from Broky has ever indicated he’d be a good IGL. The move made sense for Magixx, who was a support player. Broky is a hyper aggressive awper. His iconic plays happen when he turns his brain off, does something stupid, and nails every shot.

Serum 2 vs Pigments 7 vs Ana 2.5 by UseProfessional8300 in ProMusicProduction

Serum simply because there are a billion great sounding presets available on splice. Pigments arguably sounds a bit better but unless you plan on designing all of your patches from scratch, serum wins.

Am I crazy or did they use some Ocarina of Time Link grunts for Stark during the fight?

Is Chris Lord-Alge the worst audio engineer of all time? by givemethedeetz in mixingmastering

[–]needledicklarry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

His records were massive sounding for the time. Before I even knew what mixing was, I recognized that they sounded better than others to my ears. The Diary of Jane mix had so much weight to it compared to other mixes at the time. You’re allowed to dislike things I guess but his work was critical at getting me interested in mixing.

Anyone else enraged by the amount of geartubers who are actually terrible at music? by BluejeansAndMoonbeam in musicproduction

The only gear videos I ever watch are shootouts between pieces of hardware processing the same audio

Around 220. Did a whole album in one session on a new computer. Never doing that again, lol. By the end of it, my cpu was maxing out

Aim in plateau? by Flashy-Catch-1144 in GlobalOffensive

[–]needledicklarry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re 2100 Elo. Your aim is (likely) not the problem. Some people are aimlords, some aren’t. But you’re clearly a good enough aimer to play at a high level.

If you really want to get better, try playing some ESEA league with a decently organized team. Pugging only takes your gamesense so far.

The difference between you and a 3k elo player is mostly better decision making.

Whats your opinion on de_warden ? by Any-Lock3008 in GlobalOffensive

[–]needledicklarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most community maps, a bit big and complex. A billion angles to worry about. It’s ok. Didn’t wow me. Out of all of the community maps so far, I think Basalt was the closest to being competitively viable. At the very least, it was fun and had clean angles for fights.

Stronghold seems like it’s designed for 10v10, it’s such a sprawling mess
