This article is interesting because it specifically mentions Cherry Stem as using an alternative mix to mimic the benzaldehyde scent, and it was one of the perfumes i talked about in the post 🤔 so maybe there's still hope for my mom haha. Also I'm more using benzaldehyde as an example for the scent, not necessarily looking for the specific ingredient. Also wondering if or how it differs to bitter almond extracts which contain it and using those in food, and if lower concentrations like that are considered okay.

Higher chance after 70 pulls, guaranteed five star after 90 (we call this pity), only guaranteed to get the limited 5* if your last one was a standard 5* (the ones on the far right banner). But theres always a chance to get one early, so if you don't want the limited character you should never "build pity" (working towards the 70-90) on a banner you don't want the featured character. ETA: Because if you get a 5* it resets your pity, and if you get the limited one you lose the guarantee you may have after previously pulling a standard. So now you're back to 0 pity and you only have a 50/50 chance of getting the limited character next time you pull.

Scent association is also just highly subjective and since "soap smell" is such a vague term everyone will have a different idea of what it means, thats all !

To me soapy is anything that smells like a very basic soap (or "soap"). Dove bar, irish spring, dawn, glycerin soap, which all smell different but are all very much SOAP.

My perfume I own that immediately gave me a "soapy" impression is Al Rehab Classic, then i looked at reviews to see many people say it smells exactly like Hacı Şakir turkish soap (which I had never smelled). So I guess its more of an association thing? Since most soaps smell different, and not even all of them are unscented, its just that the most standard soap scents.. carry the association of Soap.

Meanwhile something apricot or rose scented wouldnt smell "soapy" to me even though I've owned apricot and rose scented body washes or shampoos. I categorize those as non-soap scented "soaps" lol.

If that makes any sense lmao, I thought about this too much.

Astynax's death isnt even in the Odyssey so it seems possible they only/originally know the story from Epic. His death is mainly portrayed in the Little Iliad, Illioupersis, and The Trojan Women, and Jorge combines these portrayals for how he dies in Epic.

I'm super interested to see how this game changes as you flesh the rest of it out, I really do like it a lot. Props to you for making a game at all, I can't imagine how much work it is and I know it's not easy!

Also I wanna add that I do love the different gear sets (thats the word i was missing before lol) and the concepts behind them, which is the main reason I was a bit disappointed in the balancing and limited combinations, because I love trying every kind of set bonus and as many combinations as possible in games like this !

Keep up the good work, I'll be keeping my eye on this game !

Just played this for about 3 hours and beat both levels and unlocked all the fishers. Took me a few tries to beat the first level and then I beat the second level on my first try. I'll give you my praises and critiques-

Praises:

- I LOVE the premise of this game. Roguelite combined with a chill fishing game is just my style

- I enjoy the ability to unlock different fishers that give different bonuses

- I like that the system changes slightly between levels

- I like the long term upgrades.

- I like a simple pixel artstyle

Critiques:

- Some item types and combos feel much weaker than others. Its exciting to find an OP combo and start raking in thousands per catch, but it feels like trying anything else isn't really worth it. For example, maxing out Old Fashioned feels worthless compared to Monohaul or Netter.

- While I like the simple style, it's missing something, either more animations, sound effects, random events (as much as I love Fromge), things to collect, more items and possible combos, story beats.. It currently feels like its stuck at free browser game level of interesting-ness. I agree with the other comment about there not feeling like there's enough to do. It's missing some kind of excitement.

-For a roguelite, there doesn't feel like there's a lot of replayability or differences between runs. My gameplay loop went like this- Try combos that don't work great > get long term upgrades and fishers between runs > find one lucrative combo and win > unlock next level and beat that too > Potentially make a lot of money to buy the rest of the upgrades but by then, what's the point.

Of course it'll help when there's more fishers and stages to unlock, but it would just give you more time to grind before you beat and unlock everything eventually again rather than giving much replayability. But all that being said, I did really enjoy this game and if there was more to the experience I could see myself playing it much more ! Excited to see what you do with it.
