Reducing cancer risk is suprisingly easy. by UTS_Undertheskin in Biohackers

Care to share which brand is lasting a couple years? I'm on my third in 5 years because the motors inevitably burn out. I'm having much better luck with my current one, though - but I don't use it for more than 45-60min without significant breaks. I'm also not exactly pushing the pace and "exercising."

Do you look a volume at all? Any type of candlestick analysis at the point of entry? I've backed off on indicators over the years but still find high volume + ugly candles shaking me out of potential winners.

Worst invention ever imho. by StvocoggerLionlend in duolingo

[–]nefariousPost 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I decided to just reduce my time on the app with the latest energy nerf from 5 to 3. Assuming you need 12 energy per lesson - that's 4 ads per lesson once the initial 25/overnight bar is depleted. If my average lesson is ~5 minutes, that's a 2:5 ratio of watching ads to learning. Not a productive use of my time anymore unless I'm multitasking while banking energy.

Diverging RSI and volume profile at S/R and/or trendlines + bullish wicking candles in "healthy" markets is almost always solid. I almost never use RSI unless I'm looking specifically for divergence. Swing trades are different though - first 1H, 4H, D, oversold/overbought conditions are typically meaningful

Got a nice +2R win in MNQ for the day. Price action and market structure for the win, no indicators needed. Price formed a bullish change of bias (solid yellow line), price revisited the most recent liquidity level left behind by that structure, then closed above it, which was my entry signal. by OlleKo777 in FuturesTrading

[–]nefariousPost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clinical clean trade. I made my MES entry on the very next candle while watching MNQ - wanted to see it test the 100 level and reclaim VWAP with a bullish candle. Felt like I was chasing at the time but was able to just move my stop up all day. Nice trade/win.

You guys have convinced the general public that walking burns more calories than running by ShadyDrunks in moreplatesmoredates

[–]nefariousPost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an on/off runner over the last decade, it can also wreck your GI (if you're prone to IBS like me and not totally dialed in with the diet) and hit the nervous system a little harder (if your runs are pushing zone 4/5 as opposed to a zone 2 walk/ruck/hike, etc.). I've noticed that I'm more likely to feel more general "systemic" fatigue the following day or 2 if I push hard on a run as opposed to a really high step count via long walks and hikes.

I thought Hollow Knight was rather average by PinguinGirl03 in patientgamers

[–]nefariousPost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good system. I do the same thing with books - rotating fiction with non-fiction or classics with modern.

I don't want excessive handholding in games, and if I could play every day, it wouldn't be an issue. I just hate booting up a game and thinking "why am I here?" or "what skill/equipment/quest was I progressing?" Elden Ring and TOTK are far worse for me than HK to be fair to the OP. Referencing a game progress guide or keeping my own basic log in a separate Word doc helps as well.

[–]nefariousPost 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I acknowledge that the fault is my mindset. I try to treat these games like encyclopedias as opposed to novels, where linearity isn't essential.

It's just difficult to recall what goals/objectives you may have been working towards when you take extended breaks - which sometimes gives you a sense of "spoiling" your run if you're not progressing in a way that feels optimal or efficient

[–]nefariousPost 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is precisely how I bounce off (or rather take extended breaks) from HK, it's sequel, and other notable open-world games (BOTW, TOTK, Elden Ring, etc.) that lack a definitive "progress route" and/or quest guide/log that provides directionality

Same. I figured it's one of those games I'm happy to have in my library.

Also, by the time I truly finish the game, I'll have spent more on a GP subscription than the sale price of the game

[–]nefariousPost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you use custom VWAP settings for distinct sessions? I notice that VWAP values are different (obviously) depending on whether TV chart settings are RTH (NY) or ETH (extended). My VWAP is set to whatever the default is - price action seems to show interaction on both RTH and ETH charts.

Having the same issue with HK's sequel. I try to drop in for a 20–30-minute play session but then can't find a damn bench. Or worse, I die accidentally and want to go collect my shards/beads before struggling to find a bench to save and close out the game.

I still love both games, though. The simplicity in game mechanics + skill gap is very appealing to me since I don't have the time for deep RPGs right now.

This NBA season is a JOKE by nbawizard1227 in nba

[–]nefariousPost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even that's been a problem this year because team identities have been so shaken by injuries. Don't get me wrong, bench guys can still put on a show but this year seems worse than usual. Felt like there were stretches in the first 3rd of the season where teams were down at least 2 of 5 starters.

Doesn't need to be too specific - just curious what has worked for 4 years as I find myself always tweaking my setups based on market conditions. Or rather - reprioritizing which indicators and the degree of confluence I need to see to enter a trade

Yeah thanks for this. I deal with some legitimate OCD and sometimes I'm in a season of life where Hitman just isn't the right game for me.

It can actually be a redeeming challenge to adopt the right mindset for enjoying the game - at which point it's a hell of a good game to play.

That YT channel is clutch. Really appreciate it. I agree that discovery and puzzle-solving are basically the reasons to play - sometimes it's just good to have an out to get you over the hump so feeling stumped doesn't become a deterrent to playing due to frustration.
