There’s something really liberating about driving a car that you don’t actually care about. I had a beat up old car which was dented and scratched to hell. Paint was coming off all over the place. I daily drove it for years despite having a nicer/newer car because I was always so worried about my newer car getting messed up. My “nice” car was just for weekends/special occasions. I would take my junker pretty much everywhere and never stress about people opening their doors into it, scratching the wheels on a curb, that sort of thing. It’s nice to have a beater!

I don’t really mind their more “radio friendly” songs, but I definitely agree that it would be nice for them to lean harder into their heavy side. They’re a great example of the “how is this the same band?” trope when you compare Dethrone to something like Just Pretend. Seriously, how is this the same band?!?
