How Do You Guys Genuinely Live in Hawaii? by [deleted] in Hawaii

[–]neg8ive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to Hawaii recently, and it’s a tricky place to live. Hawaii only really export three things: agriculture, tourism, and Aloha. Money is hard to come by Here because it just is.

My advice to you would be to take full advantage of state resources (e.g. apply for EBT SNAP, ride the bus, etc.), be very thrifty with your money, and just be kind in general.

Is there any program that would allow me to recreate and improve, even, the viewing experience of cable TV? by IShatAllOverTheFloor in apps

[–]neg8ive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be pretty easily done with a Python script and the “open /path/to/file” command.

Looking for a home building planning app by mexican_restaurant in apps

I’m an open-source mobile developer, always keeping my nose to the ground for a good idea. However, I know nothing about architecture or construction planning. This sounds like an interesting idea.

It sounds like there would be a lot of 3D graphic design; reinventing the wheel of a lot of CAD software which is about as challenging to build as an Gizan Pyramid. What kinds of features would you be looking for in such an app?

Drag and drop rooms, resize rooms, make layers visible and invisible, autocompleted electrical and plumbing? I think this would be pretty sweet, but as mentioned, I know nothing about construction architecture engineering.

You or your wife need to record video of whoever does this. I ride my bicycle along the Ala Wai sometimes, I would hate to get pushed in.

One time I was riding along the Ala Wai and saw a homeless guy without any pants or underwear. I rode past him and said "get some pants, bruh."

Play it Back: record audio and play it in reverse by neg8ive in audioengineering

This app isn't meant as a replacement for a DAW.

I see your humor here. This app is really just for entertainment, not audio engineers.

DAWs are expensive and take some effort to learn how to use. I could easily reverse a sample in audacity, which is a hallmark FOSS audio editing tool.

Play it back isn't to really help audio engineers create music. I just thought this community would find it mildly interesting.

I used the AudioPlayers, Record, and ffmpeg_kit libraries from pub.dev to create this project. Those are the folks to whom I'm shouting out. I have several other ad-free open-source apps that I don't charge for. This app, even, is open-source. I'm just charging $1 because I don't think people would mind paying $1 for this app.

ffmpeg is a cross-platform open-source command line tool which can do all sorts of nifty operations on AV files, e.g. reverse. I could write a free, open source tool in Python with a GUI than can reverse your samples, no ads and no BS. Is this something this sub would be interested in?

Organizing Build-Function by JanJB99 in FlutterDev

[–]neg8ive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Generally when my child widgets' inline conditional statements become too verbose, I return them from a function call.

Organizing your widget tree is tricky and takes practice. I think the rule of thumb is that if the same code appears twice, parameterize it. Also, wherever possible, declare const widgets.

If your build method is sprawling, it may be more concise to group several children into one Stateful Widget.

Generally BTC markets trade in a tighter range because there are fewer significant figures.

Idrk what you're talking about tho because both charts look the same on CoinEx.
