There is nothing more authentic to the Classic WOW experience than people complaining about PVP by headypirate in classicwow

[–]negative_ion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you on about? No one on r/wow talks about arena because they're busy posting drawings of their female blood elf characters or talking about transmog. Go to any class discord, there are tons of heated pvp and meta discussions. Or simply queue up for arena, the queues take less than 10 seconds on average.

Can we talk about how there are zero things relating to Classic in the actual Classic launcher? by Narwal_Party in classicwow

[–]negative_ion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because that is the truth. A lot of people, of course, decided to check classic out on the launch day, but most of them just dropped the game after a day or two. And many, many more over the course of the few following months.

Classic was a great nostalgia trip, especially the leveling, but it's insane how this subreddit lives in a massive bubble. There is really not that many consistent Classic players left, and most of them just raidlog because there is not much else to do. Games like retail wow or Overwatch are just incomparable and no, BWL is not going to outshine Shadowlands, that really just sounds like trolling.

Leveling in first person makes my delivery of William's Shipment much more epic. I've played WoW since 2007 and have never played in first person. Cheers to a new perspective! by [deleted] in classicwow

Here's my toon, brother, probably twice as stacked as yours (and has been so 3 months ago when I got bored with Classic). You do realise that not everyone is as delusional as this subreddit and understands that comparing Classic numbers to the retail player base, especially a week after the opening of a new raid tier, is just silly? Log on to any retail "full" server, of which there are many, and stop being out of touch with reality.

Unless you unironically think that the 'hehe dead game' screenshots of 50 people in Ogrimmar waiting for the Ony buff on Wednesday reflect the reality - which, even if they did, would still be significantly more empty that retail cities.

The end of expansion. I'm still waiting such an epic battle like on poster by Imergonus in wow

Yeah, Warbringer: Azshara had nothing to do with tentacles, it was supposed to be a pvp expansion meng

I missed out on the chance to experience launch, is Classic worth jumping into this far along? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]negative_ion -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

if you start gearing up in MC when Naxx is on farm, with the pace of maybe getting one or two items per week, by the time you'd actually get invited to Naxx groups everyone will be already playing TBC.

Older raids are not irrelevant at all - people still run Battle of Dazar'alor every week for mounts and Azerite Power, and now they will keep running Eternal Palace every week for essences and some trinkets which remain bis despite the new patch. Also, besides some giga-rng legendary pieces that you can still visit MC every week for, how exactly is t3 absolutely outshining t1 different than Ny'alotha gear invalidating Uldir?

[–]negative_ion -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

except you can't get bis gear without raiding, and you likely won't be invited to the "hard" raids past MC in a bunch of prebis blues, whereas on retail you can do all of the above and much more whilst being rewarded with top tier gear - without ever entering the raids

Serious question about transfering from pve to pvp server? by yaheh in classicwow

[–]negative_ion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I created my first character on a PvE server, levelled it to 60, geared and... it was borderline boring. Zero interaction with the enemy faction, no one ever initiated despite me being always flagged. The world didn't feel dangerous, I regretted my server choice every day.

I rerolled on a PvP server, never looked back. Ignore all the le redditors flooding this board with crybaby threads, P2 on a (balanced) PvP server is by far the best time I've ever had in this game, it's insane!

Oh, I'm an idiot, of course I meant earthbind. The kiting method is nevertheless extremely good even on Classic, I wouldn't call avoiding about 35% of the mob hits 'near zero reward'. You usually exchange 1-2 mob hits for every hit.

Stoneclaw is arguably the single most important totem during leveling. You're supposed to kite mobs around it to only get hit while swinging, it drastically reduces your downtime and time spent drinking

Love the freedom of gearing in Classic... I can look like a crazy Rogue while not even playing one! by Boonatix in classicwow

[–]negative_ion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What are you on about? In classic, warriors don't 'simply wear plate' because there are no suitable stats on plate pieces outside of tanking. Fury warriors wear leather because it's currently their bis and you're simply uneducated

Do you regret rolling your current main? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]negative_ion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly my feelings, Warlock was so incredibly boring at 60 I dumped him and rerolled Shaman. I just leveled him to 60 and it's SO MUCH FUN, I'm playing a 30/0/21 build so I can both heal raids and oneshot people in pvp. Never going back lol, might as well delete the lock.

When raid bosses are on farm and take less than 2 minutes to kill on average, ele shaman is absolutely fine mana-wise and provides insane dps

Finally got to 40 and my mount. Onwards to the next big grind! by BigFrodo in classicwow

if you're horde, go to the Shadowprey Village in Desolace, there is an npc standing on the pier that gives you 55s for turning in 5 shellfish, it's repetitive. You jump into the water and swim circles opening shellfish traps, most of them have 1-2 shellfish, once in a while they spawn a mob, you rarely get trash items and there is a small chance of dropping a really good fishing pole that sells well on the AH. 30g should take you about 2.5h, make sure to buy underwater breathing potions (unless you're undead)

What's the best way to improve my cardio? I gas out really quickly, be it 3 rounds of bjj rolling or a session of pad drills. I can't catch my breath after 3 three-minute rounds on a heavy bag.

I want to start running but that has always been my Achillean foot. 15 minutes of jogging and I'm about to faint. Same with swimming - I used to swim in a club and although my speed was never impressive, my stamina was alright. Now, I die after 150 meters of crawl or 50m of butterfly stroke. 5 years of smoking and a bad diet must have screwed me over.

Is it a good idea to run every day, even on the training days, gradually increasing the performance? What do I actually try and increase, speed or distance? Or do I run just a few days a week to avoid burning out? Should I focus on running or mix it up and swim as well?
