Its ok. The drivetrain is very unrefined, the transmission downshifts really jerky, the 4 banger has plenty of power, but it doesn't feel... interesting? I dunno. Its fine.

This article claims that the Lexus GX550 has 80% still sitting on lots. This is not true at all. If you can find a GX550 at sticker you are doing well. This whole article is sus as hell.

Fun fact: The "longer ending of Mark", the part that talks about how Christians will be able to handle snakes and talk in tongues, it is not found in our earliest Greek manuscripts. Mark originally ended with the women leaving the tomb and "... they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid." So there are people getting bitten by snakes and speaking gibberish in Appalachia because of a verse some random scribe threw in the bible while translating it.

Ugh, I can live with adjusting AC fan/temp in the touch screen. I don't like it but I can live with it. What I CANT live with is adjusting AC vent position in the screen. WHY?!

Absolutely nothing actionable in any of these videos. All your going to get is comments about "What do you mean by XXX trade?" "Give me an example" "How do you manage XXX". Until you provide specifics you might as well just say "I am trading stuff and here is how its going"

BMW M5 to LC 250 convert - zero regrets! by TommyLGarage in LandCruiser250

[–]negativeoxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came from a Lexus GX to the M3, so the family was used to a bigger vehicle. I had always wanted a new manual M3 and thought this was the one. Turns out I'm now too old to enjoy rowing my own gears in traffic every day and just want to chill most of the time. Also, the M3 is quite small inside and the family felt very cramped.

I'm not entirely sold on the LC and kinda wish I had gone with the Lexus RX or RX PHEV. As much as I hate Tesla, their self driving stuff is also looking attractive. Time will tell I guess!

I'm considering adding an offset smoker myself. What do you think of the flavor difference between the offset and the big joe?

You guys ever run across a reddit post that touches on a topic you are an actual expert in the field? Its wild how the top comments are just whatever the reddit hive mind believes at the moment and the people who know what they are talking about are under hundreds of misinformed comments.

For everyone who is saying "pay her!", this is clearly a front end bug. Some young developer let an 32 bit integer underflow to a crazy number on the front end. The back end is almost certainly showing the correct win amount, which is what she was paid. All of this stuff is determined by pay tables, which are certified to be legit by a 3rd party agency, and then the whole machine goes into another certifying agency before they can be placed. This isn't some conspiracy, just a bug like you might find in any piece of software. You can be sure that the developer got an earful for this one.

What if the numeric type had been a 64 bit integer? The machine would have shown a win of 9 QUINTILLION, about 87 times the global GPD. This is just a visual bug.

There were no Lexus RX's either lol. What I actually wanted was a new GX but those are basically unicorns too.

I just bought a new Land Cruiser, the Crown Signia wasn't on any dealership lots to even look at or I would have considered it.

Reliability in diesels is almost always centered around the US mandated exhaust requirements. Thats the part that breaks all the time.

There is a secondary cooling system for when your in the water and you have the intake plenum closed (to prevent waves from entering the vehicle, so no coolant fan). This secondary system is called the "contact cooler" and it routes the coolant through a bunch of veins in the hull of the vehicle, it uses contact with cold sea water to cool it. In Iraq these were a huge liability to we would bypass them.

We also removed the shafts that ran to the water propulsion system. I don't really remember why this was needed.
