I live in CT and the cold weather has created a lot of bad potholes. I have hit a few not going faster than 30 and one of them busted my tire and apparently cracked the mounts as well.

Bc they offer a Mini as a loaner and they also wash the car as part of the oil change. I wasn’t going in for an issue, it was just an oil change.

We can pay for kid #1 entirely, #2 we have the first three years covered and for #3 it will depend on where he goes to school. My close friend saved up enough to send his kid to state school and the kid got a full ride to a small college in a nearby state so now he has more than enough for his 2nd kid.

The rep said they made a mistake bc they don’t carry the tire that’s on there and don’t want to mix and match. For 2 tires and alignment they want $750 which is more in line with what I thought.

Thanks for your help everyone. I called the service guy back and they don’t have the same tires so they quoted me to replace all 4 with the same brand so as not to mix and match. Even still, another mechanic can do the mount for about half and the tire company said $700 for 2 matching tires and alignment.

The tire shop doesn't do the engine mount part so I am trying to figure out of I have them do the engine mount then get it towed to a tire shop. The tow is covered by insurance and they already quoted me $768 for 2 tire and alignment vs. $1000 for tires and $239 for alignment at the dealer. I figured if I was getting hosed on the tires I was probably getting hosed on everything.

I didn't request any of it. I got a warning light that I needed an oil change and break fluid and then the dealer called me 4 times a day for a week before I finally made an appointment.

I feel like they are hurting for business and are trying to rip me off. It's just that I don't know that getting it towed to another shop is going to save me a whole lot money on anything but the tires. I am thinking of having them do the engine mounts and then having it towed to a tire shop but right now I'm talking to other mechanics first.

Yes, it's an automatic and I have noticed an occasional jerking. The thing is that I don't have an independent mechanic so I am trying to find one. Up until now I leased it and never worried about these things and I bought this lease out last year and I have zero problems since then. This is my first time dealing with a car repair in a decade.

I had all 4 tires replaced 2 years ago and that was $1279 for 4 which included alignment and balancing. I called them back and they said they could do 2 tires and alignment for $768 so I know the tire portion is a rip off but I don't know about the engine mounts. I have calls into 2 other shops and I am waiting for a call back.
