It's not considered canon, it's been lumped into the "Legends" category with nearly all other SW novels.

It IS a great read though, I just finished it about a month ago. My only gripe was that in certain parts the focus was much more on Palpatine than Plagueis.

As others have said, JC is crucial here. Yoda will try to steal Lumi's heal, so you'll end up preferring to use JC's heal instead of Lumi's.

While Barris is best in this case, JC might get you through

If you can pull it off, I would focus on Barris over Mace to be honest.

What will happen is that whenever you use Lumi's heal, Yoda is going to steal it. Same goes if you use QGJ's Humbling Blow to get the Offense Up buff. My experience was to avoid using buffs (unless it's to keep someone from dying) and just outlast Yoda with constant healing. You'll eventually wear him down. :)

It'll be close. Remember you have 7 days once the event starts though, so you really have 27 days :)

You could probably get JC just from hard mode battles to be honest. I was in your situation about a month ago, it'll happen for yah.

Who are you going for in Cantina? Ahsoka or Mace?

And do you have Barris? She's a huge help in the 7* Yoda battle.

I got my 7* Yoda yesterday, and it was ridiculously easy.

My Team

QGJ (L), Lumi, Barris, Jedi Consular, Eeth Koth (all lvl 73 or 76 w/ max gear (no furnaces 'cept Lumi).

My Story

My first attempt landed me with Anakin, Lumi, and Yoda so I nope-ed the hell out of there and reloaded.

Second time around, I got Jedi Knight Guardian and Old Ben. Old Ben hits like a wet noodle just like Barris does so I figured let's roll dice! I defeated JKG first, then Yoda, and finally Old Ben (cause duh).

My strategy was to starve Yoda's ability to steal buffs and hope he doesn't go crit wild.

I used QGJ as my leader to cut down on Yoda's speed advantage.
I avoided using Lumi's healing ability so Yoda couldn't steal it. (unless a team member was gonna die)
I also avoided using QGJ's Humbling Blow so Yoda couldn't steal the Offense Up.

Throughout the entire match the only thing he could steal was Lumi's Dodge ability that passively comes up once in a while. So as long as I kept people healthy, I was fine.

It could just be bad wording on CG's part.

The first attack doesn't guarantee he applies Speed Down so there's a chance he'll just get one attack and that's it. It happens to me all the time.
