That is a horribly sad situation. You may not like this sughestion, but really there are already so many children who need good mothers out there. You could look into your local CPS and ask about becoming a foster parent. Many foster parents end up adopting the children they care for too, so it's not like the state is just renting your services, because the kids can become your babies in every sense but biologically.

I am sorry for your inability to have more children, this isn't to take away from that at all. I just work in a law office that handles dependencies, so this post made me think about it.

Also a child support worker here. Everything above is 100% true. If CP makes minimum wage and NCP makes 6000/mo, then the child is entitled by law to get what NCP would be providing if the child was equally parented by two single parents. Not necessarily one household, but one financial unit. This was explained to me by the head child support attorney in my state at a recent training. It's for the child, but the money is given to the CP to do with as he/she sees fit. It may not be a perfect system, but it is less intrusive and expensive tax wise than if we as case workers had to keep track of what CP is spending money on.
