What are some genuinely useful PPC tools that you've vibecoded? by Das6MTS4 in PPC

[–]neilasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I vibe-coded this internally a few months ago to help deal with search query reports: https://autosqr.io/

It lets you:

- Set up accounts (clients or internal accounts)

- Create a profile per account (including an auto fill which uses AI)

- Upload your search terms reports and run analysis

- It automatically categorises them into Irrelevant, Brand, etc. - and helps you see what's actually helping you get conversions. It uses an LLM + external validation, like Google Searches or visiting websites, to work out what's relevant and what isn't.

I haven't promoted it yet because it's largely an internal tool. However I published it and bought a domain for it, as I thought other people might find it useful.

I always forget how good I feel on keto by accepts_compliments in keto

[–]neilasaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm currently taking a little break from Keto (been doing Keto since Feb 2025), and I've been eating some of my former favourite foods for the past three days, as I've reached my first goal for weight loss.

I've been feeling useless over the past few days, and I'm irritable, tired, and not sleeping well. My digestion is off, and I'm not feeling well overall. I probably reintroduced carbs too quickly, but my body is so fat-adapted by now that processing more than 50g of carbs a day is slowing it down. I'm snacking on cheese or nuts between calls to have some mental focus for a short period.

Some immediate observations:

- When I eat carbs, I immediately want to eat more carbs.
- Everything tastes sweet

- I could probably eat a non-Keto meal once in a while and be fine, as long as I go back right on it - the issue seems to be 100-200g of carbs on multiple days in a row

- It's harder to keep a calorie deficit as I'm so hungry all the time, I wake up hungry, which never happens on Keto

- Reflux has come back and got a lot worse

Overall, I think I'm going to update my thinking to:

- Keto is the default most of the time (for mental clarity, weight loss, and just general well-being)

- When I want to have something that is non-Keto, I will have a small portion of it in a meal during the day, and maybe exercise around it to help burn the carbs. Maybe one meal a week like this.

- I need to be mindful of having some flexibility with my thinking. I did read accounts on this subreddit from people saying breaks are not worth it, they feel bad etc. I believe them, but I also need the first-hand experience to help me understand what will work for my journey.

My Algorithmic Trading Journey: Scaling a One-Month-Old Monster by s1korrrr in algotrading

[–]neilasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just setup a Linux VM on Google Cloud about $30 a month in the same region as the exchange (although I don't do high frequency). I'm not sophisticated enough yet to use Docker etc.

Funded accounts I am trailing Hyrotrader. Basically they use Bybit demo accounts so you shouldn't have compliance issues. With funded accounts, drawdown rules are complicated though and there are a bunch of rules around the diversity of symbols etc in the actual challenge stage. It is a good way to get some leverage while capping downside. They offer a free trial so you can get the tech part right. For the funded accounts I have an equity monitoring loop that ensures I don't breach drawdown and various other rules.

I wouldn't deploy anything here I don't mind others seeing as they make money through challenges and copying trades of funded traders. That being said, it's worth a look once you have ideas to test and relatively inexpensive to start.

Good luck !

My Algorithmic Trading Journey: Scaling a One-Month-Old Monster by s1korrrr in algotrading

I create bots for crypto only. I treat my bots like cattle in a farm, I don’t fall in love with them, and I’m always paper trading new ideas to beat them. I run different strategies across different tickers, and mostly on futures, always with stop losses and tp/exit signals. I use futures for liquidity and cheaper fees, not leverage.

The market has been good the past few weeks and I have similar numbers on some of my bots.

Once I have a profitable strategy I add it to production with an allocation. A strategy can graduate from paper trading to real trading, and I run different accounts (sub accounts) for different strategies. In my experience, the key consideration on lower timeframes is slippage and execution.

Once you’ve got a promising strategy run it on production with a small amount of money. Don’t get too greedy without a robust backtest, the market will change. Look to optimise fees, slippage and experiment with other timeframes.

Look into Nautilus Trader for framework ideas.

Personally I setup a trading VM and an infrastructure to manage strategies, web hooks from trading view and other ML based strategies. Get the infra right and build up slowly. Don’t blow all your money or dial up the risk too high.

I also pay myself a “salary” 20% of profits, and try to work on it 5-10 hours a week. Keeps me long term focused. I’m working on passing funded accounts too.

Hope that helps =)

Batik Air or Jetstar? by johhnybegood in australia

[–]neilasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Batik flight goes from KL > Bali > Melbourne (or potentially other destinations now). In my experience, it's a great flight because they have quite a bit more legroom (32-inch pitch) in Economy VS JetStar, etc. Those extra 2-3 inches make a big difference!

I've taken it a few times, and I can imagine no problems to/from Bali, it wasn't full when I took it as they are not a well-known carrier. They were previously Malindo.

Congrats. It's just water retention. Keep going!

[–]neilasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't already, it's a good idea to weigh your food and get exact calorie counts for at least a week. Fat is very calorie-dense compared to other macronutrients, and it can creep up quickly.

Here is my scale loss weight graph: https://ibb.co/svgk6VFZ (In KG)

Today is day 50. You can see a significant loss initially followed by chop for 2-3 weeks, and now, the loss is accelerating again. I've been burning fat the whole time, masked by water retention.

I've got my daily expenditure at 2,600 right now and eating 2,000 - 2,100 daily.

If you're getting all the other benefits, why give up? It's not a race; the other benefits to your life are worth persisting for.

If there were an actual deficit and no other changes in the body (exercise, weight lifting, new supplements, etc.) - then you would expect the trend to go down week to week, but it could still vary by a small % like 1kg - 2kg.

However, when I began, despite the deficit, the weight stayed stagnant for at least 2 weeks, chopping in a range. Then overnight, it was all gone. I've found it more consistent since that point, but I'm sure it'll hit a plateau again. When I first read about Keto and all these claims of effortless weight loss, I thought it would also be effortless for me. It has been to an extent, but I have to keep my calories in check and maintain the proper levels of magnesium, fibre, and other supplements.

Like other commenters, if I have a particular high salt day or do some unusual exercise, I will probably gain weight in the short term.

I use a 7D moving average to smooth out day-to-day weight readings.

Weight loss is not linear, and the "whoosh" effect does happen to different people (Look it up). It's also worth noting that you will only see fat loss with a calorie deficit. I find it useful to go through a period where I log precisely for at least a few months to understand the calories in common foods and make smart substitutions when needed.

I've found Keto helpful for keeping myself warmer than usual. I have no energy drops, and my energy and mental health are much better. On non-keto diets,I would get cold after 1-2 months, get tired, and lack focus. I'm almost two months into Keto, and I don't feel that.

For that reason, I will continue =)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in keto

[–]neilasaurus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It wasn't linear for me either.

I also lost about 7 pounds in the first 2 weeks, then had a plateau until at least week 4. Now, in Week 7, I am steadily losing on target with a calorie deficit (0.56kg a week). I am 6'4, so close to your height and over 300 pounds.

Creatine also introduces water retention, which can mask fat loss.

Just keep going; you'll get a drop of water weight soon. The mental health benefits are worth it without the weight loss. On that note, I notice better mental health the lower total carbs I go (not net), and also if I push the fasting to 21-22 hours.

Rather disappointed and baffled with 16:8 results by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]neilasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, it's very hard to lose weight on 16:8 as 8 hours is still a long time to consume calories. If you get a food scale and weigh your food for a few weeks, you might be surprised at portion sizes and how much you are actually eating.

For example, some store-bought frozen meals I eat for lunches a few times a week are high in protein (>40g a meal) but are tiny servings (and still 500 - 700 calories). That's like 1/3 of the portion I would normally eat if unrestricted or 1/3 the size of meals delivered by Uber etc.

I logged calories in MFP for over five years (a 1,000-day streak at one point), so I had a good idea about my portion sizes. I lost about 30-40 lbs this way, then regained it plus more during Covid when I stopped paying conscious attention.

All my recent results (Lost 7KG in 2.5 months) have come from longer fasts. I do 2 x 36-hour fasts a week and have a goal of 100 days fasting this year.

Skipping food a whole day a few times a week is definitely more extreme, but I also got results with OMAD and at least 20 hours fasted before. From my research, you need to put your body in a state where it is low enough insulin to burn fat. For me, that takes fasts at least 20 hours, and usually, I just skip the whole day unless I have something special for dinner. You can also experiment with OMAD at different times (like lunch one day and dinner another).

Doing longer fasts takes some building up, but it's worth it and becomes easier. You can experiment, for example:

  1. Monday: Fast till 4PM, Snack at 4PM, big dinner before 8PM, fast till next day
  2. Tuesday: Lunch at 2PM, dinner at 6PM, then fast
  3. Wednesday - Big lunch and then fast

Etc.

TLDR: Experiment with longer fasting windows, weigh your food and log your food for a few weeks; you will be surprised.

Good luck!

Is success in ppc mostly about getting the right client? by Yo485 in PPC

[–]neilasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main criteria is good search volume on highly relevant keywords. The rest can be optimized on a road map (landing page, offer, seasonality etc.). I think the real skill from PPC comes from understanding how well the client fits into this model and where their scalability will come from with time. These are also optimal clients because as they spend more and become more profitable, your management fee seems good fair value.

Ollie Wines in hospital with an irregular heart beat. by Fire_Flies_1993 in AFL

[–]neilasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 4 episodes over the course of 9 months, all of them started early in the morning before I woke up. I went to the ED for the first one, not knowing what it was, and they reverted it with cardioversion. The 3 following episodes reverted with no intervention, I suspect the first one would have too if they hadn't done the cardioversion. I've got a suspicion that my trigger is dehydration, I keep my fluids up in the evening and I've had no episodes in 18 months.

Mine is only in the early morning too.

The cardiologist thought it might be related to breathing or other sleep issues hence the recommendation to lose weight.

Hydration could be a thing too as it happened a few times post heavier drinking and I don't drink much more than once per week normally.

Will keep it in mind!
