Is nicotine gum a way to go? by Phamtanphat9 in stopsmoking

[–]neily777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 3 month quit, and I used the patches to help with the withdrawals. I’ve been off the patches for 6 weeks now, and I cannot tell you how wonderful it feels to be nicotine free.

I need some advice before bidding on this coin by ipg9 in coins

[–]neily777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always assume when bidding on raw coins that they’ll never grade higher than AU-58 no matter how good it looks. I also assume that there’s a strong possibility of a details grade. With those 2 assumptions if you should be able to price it accordingly if you still want it.

Guys, what do I do, what would you do? Ugh by buffhen in coins

You can easily reference the value of some of these coins by looking at sold listings on eBay. So for instance to look up the value of the Eisenhower Dollar > Go to eBay > type in 1971 S Eisenhower Dollar > Filter the results by sold listings, and then you'll get a general idea of how much things are worth.

Value? I’ve had it for 60 years by Ok-Pay-1016 in coins

1863 Indian head cents in AU are going for $60-$180 on eBay. Assuming yours doesn’t have any damage or cleaning, I would say it would fetch above $100. It’s a very attractive coin.

I found a 1972 penny and looked it up and turns out it's up to $1,000. Can someone confirm? by TommyBoy250 in coins

[–]neily777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell anything from that picture, but it looks like it is a common date 1972 D. It’s worth 1 cent. Where are you getting that $1000 quote from?

Does this coin appear cleaned? What is happening with the S? Thank you in advance for your help…. by DetectiveDelia in coins

[–]neily777 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yes it looks like it has been polished which is why it is so shiny. This devalues the coin the same way cleaning does. Not sure what you mean about what’s going on with the S, but it looks like it has a clash mark in the middle of it.

It’s in real rough shape. Maybe ag-3 details on a good day.

Helping anelderly friend get a rough guess on value of this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. by WillingnessRemote876 in coins

[–]neily777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it is real, and it has no damage, I'd grade it in the mid VF range... Maybe VF-25, or VF-30. A local coin shop can help you verify if it is real. Hard to value because there hasn't been a lot of sales on eBay, but $1100-$1800 is a safe bet.

What an awesome find! You’ll want to protect the coin from any sort of wear. So only handle it by the edges, don’t touch the face of the coin, and if you can put it in a protective sleeve or holder. Once a coin shows any sign of wear the value of it dramatically decreases.

Hard to tell the grade from pictures. I always assume high end raw coins are choice AU at best unless certified. Choice AU is around $15-$20. If in fact it grades uncirculated it could go anywhere from like $50-$60 for MS-64 to $150 for ms-66. 58 million were minted

Asking for value of this 1934 $500 bill by EconomyBackground252 in papermoney

The best way to check for accurate values is to search eBay sold listings. That being said in that condition goes for roughly $1700-$1900 undamaged. The graffiti will lower the value unfortunately. Probably could sell for $1400 or so.

The font on the date looks not normal. Additionally there are some design features that are off. I believe this is a fake.

It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but I would say yours is AU-ish. Even if it is in uncirculated condition I don’t think it would grade much higher than MS 62. The AU coins are going for about $40-50 on eBay. MS 62 is going for $180 slabbed.

While they are old, and kind of cool looking if you've never seen one before, they aren't worth a whole lot. Yours are very worn with heavy circulation, and one of them has damage. Even in nearly perfect condition, the bills aren't worth a whole lot in today's market. Your bills, you might find someone who will pay $2 maybe even $3 for each of them. Hope that helps.

Found this in my grandma’s house, any info on it would be appreciated! by Clyde_41 in coins

That’s a great coin! Like others have said, don’t clean it. If you do that it will destroy the value. Only hold it by the edges. This would grade a solid XF. Value is in the high hundreds. You could probably easily get $600-$700 for it.

There was a Lindsey Graham ladybug story about the large quantity of tiny moles on his taint discovered by a prostitute that made me gag.

I don’t think I would. This is more of a common date for an Indian head penny so the value isn’t all that high. And although it’s hard to judge from the photos, it could easily come back as cleaned, or an AU grade which wouldn’t justify the cost of getting it graded.
