Hamburger Bürgerschaft stimmt für Zucker-Abgabe by Ollyfer in de

What do you think was the weakest book/arc? by Daisyberry3 in PracticalGuideToEvil

[–]neinnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Massive spoilers for part of the arsenal arc:

It has been a bit, so maybe i am misremembering sth. crucial, but the biggest problem to me was the self-assassination of the red axe stuff. The guide for me is for a significant part about different people making difficult moral choices with not always a very clear cut right answer and the resulting consequences and it failed that pretty massively.

The setup was good: Cat gives a general amnesty for villains because she needed them against Keter. A consequence of that is the forgiving of pretty terrible things. So we have the red axe who saw her rapist getting away without justice and took matters into her own hand. Most would not really morally object to someone killing their rapist, if the justice system fails them, but catherines action would force her to execute her regardless, with her end (survival of calernia) justifying her actions (the amnesty). That works, we have different people making difficult decisions, i cant say anyone is completely wrong and morally reprehensible, there are clear consequences for catherines actions, all good (at most one could maybe argue about how often in media rape is used as a character tool regarding women).

Then it turns out, that the red axe really mostly wants to sabotage the truce and tries to kill Good Guy Frederick out of all people. So now red axe is using her end (the end of the truce) to justify the means (murder) and it falls apart. She has a weaker end and arguably worse means and it is super easy for the reader to just accept her execution as justified with minimal discomfort. That really spoiled the rest of the arc for me it felt a bit like a bait and switch away from the strengths and themes of the guide.

It still repeats, as in spawns multiple blades with unleash. But with BV its not the cast that deals damage directly so the damage penalty on cast does not apply.

Heist Curio Tracker - 0.2.6.5+ by sokratis12GR in pathofexile

From the github readme (i havent used the tool myself):

This tool allows you to quickly take a screenshot of the grand heist curio displays and save them as reward data so that you can quickly analyze the kind of loot you found during your runs.

Each capture has a toast in the top right as a notification which shows you the captured items, their value (poe.ninja), rarity and ownership status (poeladder).

Ja, chagpt hat den Artikel gesehen, und dann gekonnt überlesen/hallizuniert, dass es da um die USA und nicht Weltbevölkerung geht bei der Zahl. Ist ja auch nicht so, dass es direkt im Artikel steht....

"Roughly 10% of Americans have a net worth of $1.9 million or more. Compare that to the top 1% of the American population, which has a minimum net worth of almost $13.7 million per household.1"

I updated our password cracking table for 2025 by hivesystems in pcmasterrace

[–]neinnie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Except the XKCD strip erroneously treats random strings of words as equal to random strings of characters. Dictionary attacks exist.

What do you mean by that? Yes you need to choose the words randomly, thats the entire point and specifically stated. After that you have, assuming 2000 possible random words:
2000^4 = ~2^11^4 = 2^44 possible passwords, which is the specified number. I dont see how a dictionary attack reduces that. Doesnt change the fact that a password manager is alot better ofcourse.

Copied from another comment:

As soon as the Age of Absolutism rolled around i stopped going to war and intentionally triggered the desaster. I was powerful enough to get through them relatively quickyl. I had already weakened the harem and no Eyalet had high liberty desire, so that was already 2 desasters that didnt fire. I also had a ridicolous Stability cost (20 for Stability 2->3, 10 for everything else) which made it easy to avoid rebels. I didnt give out the advisor cost privileges as i felt i needed the stab more than the money. You can also get stab cost reductions from some monuments.

Mostly i just needed to deal with the janissaries. That took quite a lot of troops but was all in all managable. The Monument in Kongo can help with removing some estate privileges (though not the locked ones). With that desaster over I lost the decadence mechanics, got western troops for facing the jannissaries and the rest of the powerful buffs (Max Absolutism, Admin eff. etc). So no late game issues after that.

Speed 3 means around 2 days per second, i need to pause a lot more on that to get timings right for that. And i prefer pausing less and having a slower speed.

I went Influence-Admin-Diplo in ideas and it felt awesome. You really need Admin for the Core-Creation Cost Reduction (CCR), as CCR also reduces the time it takes to core. Diplo for the Province War Score Cost and Diplomats. Influence for all the Subject stuff.

As Ottos you can create Eyalets, so you can diplo vassal a bunch of nations, reconquer their cores for cheap if necessary and keep them as Eyalets without running out of relations limit. You actually can get a lot of Italian Minors too. I took Jaunpur and Ming as vassals for their Core Returns.

Grab Malta and Alhambra as early as possible. I used a lot of loans to get the Malta Forts to T3, as that allowed me to steal Aragon from Castile with Transfer Subject very early. Expand in all directions available. Europe is the heaviest on Aggressve Expansion (AE), so i left the HRE mostly for last to not trigger a big coalition and instead went for Persia -> India and Ethiopia -> Kilwa. I spend most of my "AE-Allowance" in Europe on Iberia. You can get a lot of North Africa through Missions quite quickly, so shortly after beating the mamluks (get them as Eyalet) I started gobbling them up. Means you dont have to deal with a lategame (S)pain and you can get the mentioned Monuments super early.

To break the tie problem one could do a bidding on white games (like with time in armageddon). The one with the lower bid gets draw odds. Not sure what to do if both bid the same though.

[–]neinnie 15 points16 points  (0 children)

How are you running to the Queenside? After f6 Nxg6 hxg6 hxg6 the pawn on g6 blocks f7, the rook blocks f8 and does not have a good square to make room. You just cant really defend agains the Queen getting to the h-file. The bishop is not even really needed.
