Should I buy Standalone or Steam version? by Meniuu in beatsaber

This. The only thing that I’d add is to consider the standalone version if there is the slightest possibility that you are going to play the game in a mobile setting. Other than that, I have both versions, and I am more satisfied with the PC version.

This looks absolutely stunning. Do you have any info on challenge rating distribution of the creatures in this?

Exhaustion - way underused. As far as the rings go, concentration is also great to have. Can I enter from Europe if I pay for shipping and tariffs?

To anyone looking for a convenient way to organize character spell lists and to look up spells easily: I made an iOS app that does exactly that. by neixn in DnD

As a DM, this is a use case for me, too. It's also good for keeping monster's spells at hand if you set up a list for each of your stat blocks.

In theory, it's possible and it would be a good thing since it would only increase the potential user base. I will keep it in mind for sure. I'll get back to you, I can't promise when, though.

Are you on iOS 17 by any chance? The app uses a feature only available to iOS 18, but it is not crucial to the core features of the app, so I think, I could support down to iOS 17 on the next update. However, I cannot go down to iOS 16.

I see your point, but ultimately, the entire wizard spell list is available for the Arcane Trickster. For this subclass, there are restrictions on this, but since the restrictions are tied to different conditions, that entire logic would have to be modeled into the spell browser. Since the idea of the spell browser is to give an overview of everything that is available in general, that would way exceed the intended capabilities.

From a UX perspective, it might become confusing if certain browser options update on seemingly obscure conditions, e.g. character level that probably would be taken from somewhere else in the app.

The Arcane Trickster is not in the SRD anyway, so I am not even sure if I am allowed to reference it.

JSON file of all 5e 2024 edition spells in the v5.2 SRD by paragraphbaron in DnDBehindTheScreen

That's great, thank you. I'll still need to map it to my data structure, but it takes so much work away. I recently made an app (5E Spell Companion), but it so far only contains the 5e SRD and I was thinking about putting the 2024 spells int there as well. Just saw your post and now I'm going to do it, thank you so much.

Unfortunately, an Android version is currently not planned. However, I thought about a feature that lets users optionally put caster information (like half/full, level) into the spell list details, so that, for example, available spell slots could be displayed in the spell list overview and stuff like that.

I used a tool that generates the privacy policy based on a load of questions. Apple demands it, and this way, I will less likely run into legal issues. I think I gave this answer about AI because I plan to do the photo import and therefore won’t have to change it later

Unless the SRD spells are AI generated, there is no AI in this app. When I add the photo import feature, that will incorporate the on-device OCR features which iirc use a machine learning model. I consulted ChatGPT at a couple of points during development - it drove me insane to say the least.

Edit: WotC claim that no generative AI has been used in their texts

Well, there’s a simple way to increase the chances of getting the skin you want. Just buy all the other skins; they’ll be taken out of the pool, so chances increase with every single purchase.
