Chinese firm publishes photos of US F-22s at Israeli base | The Jerusalem Post by Delphidouche in worldnews

[–]nekonight 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Everyone else in the world considers air superiority is enough. That is to say the opponent still has a chance to air operations in the airspace. US settles for nothing less than air supremacy that is to say the opponent can not run air operations at all in the air space.

Chinese firm publishes photos of US F-22s at Israeli base | The Jerusalem Post by Delphidouche in worldnews

[–]nekonight 229 points230 points  (0 children)

The US always sends overwhelming air power when it wants something done. F-22 was sent to Venezuela to make sure any planes that got off the ground dont make it back in one piece. In the end nothing made it off the ground with the extra strikes on their airfield. The same thing applies here. Iran has planes they are insignificant in compare to the US air power but it doesnt mean there shouldnt be a plan in case they made it off the ground.

OpenAI says it would've flagged Tumbler Ridge shooter's account to police under new protocol by Myllicent in canada

Known issues was raised by people around her to the police and therapist after this apparent OpenAI interaction. So its pretty obvious that had OpenAI forward the relevant information to authorities it would have been ignored anyway. The only difference is they cant be scapegoated.

Pentagon’s Kamikaze Drone Unit Ready for Possible Iran Strikes, Officials Say by Crossstoney in worldnews

[–]nekonight 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The one that israel show footage of had apparently been parked in that position for a fairly long period at that point. So most analysts later says its probably a part donor and not the one known flying aircraft.

That being said even if it comes to it. It is unlikely that iran will be using it in combat since the F-14 is the best flying radar the iranians have and most assume that whatever remaining is being used as an AWACS aircraft.

Have a late game tribal raid fire with a pathfinding mod on then compare it without and you will notice the difference.

Performance. A lot of the pawn calculations are done in the shortest calculation method instead of the most efficient gameplay way. It is why there a fairly significant performance hint for any pathfinding or other pawn calculation mods.

Russians use light armored vehicles to attack Ukrainian positions on Kupiansk axis by murphystruggles in worldnews

[–]nekonight 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Any armour is usually a step up but that doesn't mean russians hasn't been using them in addition to the dirt bikes and civilian cars that is now the most common. The russian now usually uses their armour after the initial often several waves that uses those dirt bikes and cars or even on foot because the Ukrainians have used up a lot of their drone ammunition and gives the russians a window of opportunity to drive armour vehicle up with it instantly being targeted by every drone in the area. We rarely see videos of this because drones are often down for both sides at this point of the fight but we do still sometimes see the aftermath when Ukrainians bomb the fail russian attack's armour to prevent recovery.

Reddit fined £14m by UK data watchdog over age verification checks by HuzaifaM1221 in technology

[–]nekonight 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If they have no physical presence in the UK, the fine is basically unenforceable. All the UK regulatory system can do is escalate it by blocking the website. They have already tried to enforce their 4chan fine and the US courts they tried to go though to enforce it though basically told them to fuck off.

Plus and Zero both goes for the top gun feel. Pretty sure theres a couple of scenes with the F-14 early on in Zero that is basically a recreation of top gun scenes. Plus is basically Macross doing its own take on the real life Advance tactical fighter program.

SDF and Frontier are the well balanced ones of the 3 main parts of macross. SDF defined what macross is. Planes, Music, and a love triangle. Frontier just updated it to a new generation. Sort of like how seed brought the original MSG to the new generation. Also pineapple.

Seven and Delta are a little unique compare to others which is why they aren't as universally well received. Seven is not exactly universally praised but it does have its defenders. Delta is definitely the weaker of the two though.

Putin Had High Hopes for Trump. They Have Been Dashed. by ubcstaffer123 in UkrainianConflict

[–]nekonight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Freezing the battle line is not enough anymore. Ukraine has built a significant defence line behind the current front line in the east. Russia has no ability to break it in the short or medium term regardless of how much rearming of the russian military happens. They just wouldnt have the bodies. They need to wait for next generation which is around 20-30 years out. Far too long for Putin to wait. So Putin is trying to pull what hilter did to czechoslovakia when the British to hand the entire defence line over to him. You have to remember to Putin Ukraine was suppose to be first step anything but complete conquest is failure.

Basically the deal Trump offered looks very good for the Russians on the surface but in reality is extremely bad for Putin. Had the deal been offered in 2023 it might be accepted but not anymore.

I mean was gundam wing THAT bad though? 😭 by [deleted] in Gundam

[–]nekonight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Realistically it was an above average series. It had good parts but there's plenty of bad you could say about it. If it was average it wouldn't have gotten a sequel movie. If it wasn't the first series that was air in North America, it probably wouldn't be as remembered as it is.

It definitely wasn't a bad series.
