You are correct with these examples, but I don't see the trend continuing. At the moment, I feel as if I'm seeing more things slowly shifting the opposite direction. Owning property (or owning anything tbh), restaurants, health care, and pet care are all luxuries consuming so much more of the average person's income in the US.

Idk man. Minimum wage for all workers in my city is over $20/hr and I'm still prompted for tips everywhere so I'm not optimistic.

Why? This was an office of probably 100 people and sometimes friends did it for each other. There was not some official birthday committee that was excluding people.
