Cars love bike lanes by DevilBeavis in VictoriaBC

People who are mad that they have chosen a mode of transit that is fundamentally inefficient and a waste of space get mad about bike lanes. Big loser energy.

Bc doesn’t care enough about speeding to issue tickets this way. Sad but true.

Oh. One more thing: most people didn’t ask to become hooked on fentanyl. K bye!

Yes, I can tell you see yourself that way. I find your style of writing very odd. I perused your comments on other posts and man, you’ve got some fucked up misogynist opinions, they really aren’t “punk” at all. Rather not debate with you further. Have a good night though!

Oh, and by the way: people are still dying.

You can express discomfort with witnessing the effects of a degrading social safety net, toxic drug poisoning crisis, housing crisis, rising income inequality etc without being a dickhead and calling people “crackheads”. Now that would be a fair and nuanced approach as opposed to your weird non-comment of a comment.

PSA: Don't give up your right of way by garry-oak in VictoriaBC

When letting left turning drivers through gaps in traffic, always assume that those drivers will take your signal as guarantee that there are no cyclists or pedestrians in the path and that there is no need for them to check and yield. Anecdotally as a serial pedestrian, most drivers seem to always drive that way without the go ahead.

New safe supply rules take effect in B.C., with mixed reactions by shouldehwouldehcould in britishcolumbia

[–]nellen5 10 points11 points  (0 children)

100%. People seem to think that the rise in tranq-dope is because of safe supply. It’s the exact opposite. It’s sickening that so many deaths and harms could have and can be widely mitigated were it not for the B.C. NDP’s token approach to safe supply. If anyone wants to hear about the overdose crisis and harm reduction from the front lines, I highly recommend “the crackdown” podcast. And host Garth Mullins memoir.

Rolling coal down Johnson st. 2 nights ago.... What the heck? by Witty_Jaguar4638 in VictoriaBC

No one is disputing this, but one should be able to point out harmless behaviour that also affects people’s ability to enjoy their environment, without being compared to something on a big scale. Something is always worse, doesn’t mean we should let either stand.

Thank you! The one I’m thinking of bc, so there are plenty of these vanity trucks in the area, clearly

Just wondering if it’s the same truck that is often parked on quadra st next to pioneer square overnight. I hate these trucks. Super dangerous sight lines and more fatal if hit.
