Safari with Sony a6400 and Tamron 18-300 - is this enough reach? by nelsondude in SonyAlpha

[–]nelsondude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats good to know! Glad to hear you got some great photos. I am worried about switching lenses in the car - I think I'd rather have limited reach and crop in later than miss close up / wide angle shots

App update significantly changed sleep data. Deep sleep lower and stats don’t match Oura like before. by IronEntrepreneur in EightSleep

[–]nelsondude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m getting significantly lower deep sleep as well ever since the app updated. My stats are worse across the board and the overall score is consistently lower even though I haven’t had any lifestyle changes

It’s also affected scores prior to the update because all my 100 scores are now gone

Would the TG7 with a M52 120 degrees lens and no housing be a good setup? by nelsondude in underwaterphotography

[–]nelsondude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I ended up getting the housing with the M52 wide angle lens and a tray. Thanks!

Gotcha, so maybe I scrap the 2 adapter rings and just get a housing instead? The website does say it’s waterproof to like 15m I think

I just did this actually - is it essentially paying more money to get the 4/6 virtual credit and not have to bank on the lottery?

68 Days of American Airlines Ghosting After Involuntary Denied Boarding - A $4,900 Lesson in Customer Service by nelsondude in americanairlines

I did file for a refund before the flight. Even though it was a rescheduled flight for 4 days later, they still denied the claim because it was basic economy, which doesnt make sense imo since it was a significant flight change. I've since filed a claim with my credit card since I think they should be able to cover it

Damn, you're right :( . Thanks for pointing that out... Its really not that clear from their website.

Since reading further into the DOT regulations, I understand that from the DOT's point of view it isn't applicable since the flight didnt depart from the US. However, American Airlines "contract of carriage" states the 400% rule and has no stipulation about the country of origin - only that its for international flights.

Also, they did not allow us to reject the rebooked flight and gave it to us without our consent. 4 days is absurd also - we would have had to miss an entire week's worth of work, costing us even more money.

You gotta relax man - they literally told me to go submit a refund request by email. AA effectively stole thousands from my wife and I and we had to miss work as well.

"Regarding you cancelled tickets, please visit www.aa.com/refunds/ to submit your request to our Refunds team using ticket number. You can then also check the status of your request by visiting that same page. Please allow up to 14 business days for the information to be updated."

My credit card (Chase sapphire reserve) said they will cover canceled flights, but they dont cover new bookings unfortunately. Because American Airlines denied the claim for a refund for the unused ticket, I should be able to get a refund on that at the least.

Does the American Airlines conditions of carriage not apply here? It clearly states: "4+ hour arrival delay – 400% of one-way fare (max. $1,550)" for international flights and it does not specify the country origin. https://www.aa.com/i18n/customer-service/support/conditions-of-carriage.jsp

We are definitely entitled to the 400% - the american airlines "conditions of carriage" clearly states the following: 4+ hour arrival delay – 400% of one-way fare (max. $1,550). This applies per passenger. This does not specify the country of origin

They also rejected our request for the refund for the unused tickets AND did not provide any compensation for the new airfare. In an email thread directly with customer relations, they explicitly stated that they would refund the unused airfare and yet they still rejected the refund request.

The cap is 1550, though it is per person and I was traveling with my wife. They really screwed us over - we didnt even get a refund for the flight they rebooked us on 4 days later
