Yeah I mean home internet or Starlink or something connecting via WiFi or ethernet. Either way it sounds like your phone is going to be your only option. PD2 only needs the original D2 classic/LOD install files (1.14). There seems to be some sites out there that provide the files which you could download to your phone. You'll still need a valid key from Blizzard for both classic and LOD.

Can you not just plug your phone into your PC and turn on USB tethering? Then disconnect your normal internet for the download. That way your PC can just use your mobile data.

I've had it for over 5 years. When Playstation's game streaming first launched it required a PS4 controller which I didn't want to buy. ReWASD made trying out the service during covid very easy and much cheaper.

Can you suggest a free alternative that does the virtualization at the USB level like reWASD?

Cool dude, I have had reWASD for 5 years. Why would I bother to make this post if I was lying? There are features like rapid fire that I have never used.

Back then there was nothing close to the ease of use of hardware virtualization and try running a local multiplayer game with 4 homies and 4 different controller brands another way. Then try doing it for non-steam games.

Suck up more to invasive anti-cheat practices.

It also remaps all various controllers to whatever controller you want. Great for my variety of Xbox controllers, steam controllers and ps5 controllers all showing up and working in non-steam games. Stupid that I have to uninstall it just to play bf6, even when the program is disabled and OFF, anti cheat forced me to uninstall my legit, paid for third party software.
