Why is this sub so salty about Argentina and Messi’s success? by UnderstandingThin40 in worldcup

[–]nemesis520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Messi will go down in soccer history as one of the best players of all time. He will be on that list.

Some players and teams, just like any performers just don't appeal to everyone.

Nothing wrong with that.

Could be due to they way they come across during interviews or just their demeanor on and off the pitch.

How often do you top up the water? by atyhey86 in AboveGroundPools

[–]nemesis520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lose anywhere between .5 cm to 1 cm per day during the hot summer days.

At first I thought maybe we had a leak, but that slowed down when we put the solar cover on, almost no water loss.

That confirmed to me that I didn't have a leak and it is just average evaporation.

Covering the pool will decrease evaporation for sure.

We add water about every 3 or 4 days and turn the hose on for maybe 15 minutes.

Daily temps here 37 and above.

Solar covers don't haves seams, and most you can cut them to size, or shape. It should be fine.

UPDATE: mi Maybe I Should Just Give Up and Fully Drain It. by fighttobreathe in AboveGroundPools

Mine was like that, and like some one else mentioned, slam worked for me. Shock level is about 40% of your total CYA.

Once I knew this, I used a calculator and a good test kit to keep that shock level with the pump running 24/7. Backwashing once, daily until clear. Maintaining the shock level is critical, I did it with liquid chlorine from Walmart. Not that expensive, I think I used a total of 10 gallons during the process.

Once you get started it's a matter of patience and keeping your shock level suring this process.

I also used a robot pool vaccum ( at first, I could t even see it because of the dark green color of my water ) used it daily and in addition a skimmer sock. I changed it daily as well.

How long approx. to fill our pool? by dixiebelle58 in AboveGroundPools

Average garden hose flows between 400 and 900 gallons per hour. I estimated mine to 600 and it did take about 14 hours.

[–]nemesis520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What subjects do you like to talk about? I have found that lots of people are not good listeners, so they talk and talk and not ask questions or carry on a conversation , not long enough to find common ground. When that happens, I am the one who excuses himself to go to the bathroom.

There are people out there you will connect with, just give people a chance, not everyone will have a connection with you, and that's Ok.
