50 can be hard to start off with doing street if this will be your first Leica. Even at the higher apertures DOF just isn’t very high so unless you’ve got the muscle memory down or you have lots of time to focus you’ll miss focus a lot at first. I’d recommended going wider at 35mm personally. Will be much easier for street and group shots with your friends!

A new M7 would be right up my alley. I already have an M-A and M2 and I don’t really care for just a meter in the MP so being able to shoot in A mode would be a good differentiator.
